I’ve read all the books now - my own fault. I have issues with not finishing things. I ALMOST tossed these a few times. Because I absolutely LOATHE when supposedly strong females become utterly useless just because a male is around with his shirt off. The female drones on and on about how she’s going to punish the males for one reason or another but literally loses her mind when in close proximity to said males. It’s the eye roll to end all eye rolls. The males in this book use sex as a weapon to control her which is also infuriating but completely understandable considering how easily manipulated she is simply by some sultry words whispered in her ear. The story line was fine. Spice was fine - but again, when sex is used as a weapon and manipulation tool, it’s not as enjoyable for the reader.

Like some other reviewers, I also recommend reading the Elemental Academy books first. They reference events and crossover characters that would have been nice to have know about a bit better. But I won’t be able to read another of this author’s series because I can’t stand the hypocrisy of a “strong” woman wholly weakened by a mere glance at the opposite sex. Ugh.
