However the recent trend towards ALL Lego packs to be specific to a certain design or configuration has left me somewhat at a loss to find collections of just simple block sets. I just want a very large traditional multi piece set with the run of the mill 1,2,4,6,8 segment blocks and some flats. These are the sets that really allow kids to explore and spark their imagination! Every time I think I’ve found one they come in small individualized packages, with multiple specialty pieces and not the generic set I’m looking for.

I’m not criticizing the set or the pieces, Legos are still a great toy, maybe I’m just old, but I want my grandkids to have a huge box of thousands of legos to build crazy buildings and shapes…
