Well-written book, but kind of a downer

I liked the characters and the premise, but Andy's drunken sadness went on way too long. I kept waiting for it to be funny, like all of the reviews said. The book is well-written, and I DID want to see how it ended. The last few chapters were better than the rest of the book.
