I wanted this on the back of my shower wall, so I could use my water pic in the shower. It sticks to the surface really well so far and I haven't had a problem with it steaming up. It's not directly in the water stream, but it does get wet. I have a handheld, battery operated water pic, and they can be quite messy to use. I'm not sure what the shower is made of, but it's older and is a one piece tub and walls unit. The mirror adheres well to the surface.
