I have two Ragdoll cats. One is an adult, and one is about 8 months old. We have two very large cat pans in our bathroom (one is the litter genie one, which is fantastic for large cats) and I was looking into getting a litter genie, or a litter locker, or some kind of dirty litter storage system. I couldn’t find one that I liked, and having to buy specialty bags was a con as well. The biggest thing I was finding though was that the tops of all these systems were narrow and dirty litter got all over the top. So I opted for this little can. It’s the perfect size. I love the pinkish color. It holds about a week of dirty litter for the two cats, and I can reuse all the grocery store bags that I get. I just line it with a bunch of grocery bags, and pull out two (or three) in case there’s a hole in one, so it’s double bagged. There’s no odor in the can. We use World’s Best Cat Litter, the regular formula. I e found that’s better than the multi cat formula or scented ones (though the scented ones do smell lovely). It’s also a flushable litter that’s safe for septic tanks, but I feel better about tossing the poo. I haven’t had to put a weight in the bottom to keep it from sliding around, but maybe I’ve just gotten lucky.
I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a cat litter solution that doesn’t cost much, and doesn’t require specialty bags. You could even use regular can liners if you don’t have grocery bags. It’s really a great, and pretty, little can.
