I purchased and read this book on the basis of a glowing review I had read in a reputable source. I forced myself to finish it, hoping at some point I would start to care about the characters, which never happened. After a few days of pondering this book after finishing it I had a moment of clarity. And that was that this was a video game masquerading as a novel.
