Customer Review

As I noted in my review of Okocat clumping litter, there was some difficulty transitioning the tribe from clay litter (Tidy Cat). Ookicat's recommended method was not satisfactory.
I had used Dr. Elsey's in the past but the manufacturer states to not use with non-clay. Fresh Step says go right ahead, it'll mix just fine.
It is fine. And it worked. The cats weren't at all keen on giving up their clay and required persuasion. I added a generous amount to each box (thoroughly cleaned, of course). That did the trick.
This stuff is a bit pricey. I can't complain too much since it worked so well.
Be careful when sprinkling - the plastic lid can easily come off the cardboard tube. This happened once, dumping a lot in the box.
Definitely recommended.

[Somewhat later] Still working fine.
One cat has / had a problem with inappropriate defection. Every night I scoop the boxes (one for each) and add the attractant. To date, there's been only one incident, and that next to an untreated box (my bad).
Truthfully, I can't _prove_ it works, , but it's made a big difference in my situation.
BTW, I started with Dr. Elsey's, purchased from a "Smart Pet" store, which also worked. This is economical and seems to work as well.
Still recommended.
