My impressions of the LG CM4590, so far, are very favorable. Good design good capability and good sound. I placed this unit in a large garage and will use it almost exclusively to listen to mp3 encoded songs from a USB flash drive. I have over 10,000 mp3 songs (~1,000 CDs). I put these songs on a 64GB USB flash drive about the size of a person’s thumbnail and mounted it in my Toyota which reads all 10,000 songs with no problem. The LG CM4590, however, can only read up to 2,000 songs from one USB flash drive. I have no idea why this restriction exists. Because of this restriction, I had to buy five 16GB USB flash drives and store the 10,000 songs across these five drives. Each flash drive will support about 133 hours of listening time. … The second requirement I had was for the unit to have a resume play memory. If I’m listening to song #1533 and I quit for the day, turning the unit off, then I want it to remember where it was the next day when I turn the unit back on. The LG CM4590 DOES have a resume play memory. (For the life of me I cannot imagine anyone listening to CDs any longer. They have gone the way of the eight-track and cassette tapes. With a USB flash drive the size of a thumbnail I can have ~200 CDs worth of music mounted at one time with the LG CM4590.)
