I was amazed. With just water, this towel removed the majority of my make-up (even waterproof mascara). Although I think it best to double cleanse to remove all traces. I have used it with plain water and I have used it with soap or face cleanser. If you use cleanser, use it sparingly. It really lathers up. Best to use the cleanser directly on your face and use the Eraser to towel it off. I did notice that you must pre-treat the towel before washing to ensure it gets completely cleaned. I accidentally missed pre-treating once and it did not wash out. But the magic fabric that it is made of (some sort of polyester) came completely clean with no traces on the next wash. Magic! I do find it a little pricey, but works as claimed. It comes in so handy when traveling. And much more cost effective than throw away towelette makeup removers.
