About the product itself: yes, it smells a tiny bit like catnip. However, I think it smells a lot like ground hay and ground alfalfa, which to me is a really nice smell. I did sprinkle it in the litter boxes for my 'problem' cat, and she started using the litter box for #2 soon thereafter. But I'm not sure if it is this product that did it, or a new unscented litter, or a new litterbox sans cover. In any event, the problem is solved.
I had hoped that the manufacturer would have improved the packaging on this product, after hearing complaints from buyers that the top on the container was not secured. Well, I was fooled, because when I opened the box, I, too, was greeted with was a box full of green powder - see my photo. The powder spilled on my counter, the floor, and on my clothing, Fortunately I was able to scoop most of the powder back into the cardboard tube. I then hot-glued the plastic lid onto the tube, which is something the manufacturer should have done!
