I have had a bad clog in my bathtub for about 3 months but wanted to avoid the cost of hiring a rooting service. I had originally purchased a hand cranked rooting contraption which didn't remove anything and seemed not to be able to make the turns in the pipe, which must have some very sharp bends. I tried over and over to "plunge" the drain with a toilet type plunger and only managed to wear myself out and make a mess. I saw this product pop up in an advertisement and decided to give it a try before giving in and hiring a rooter after all. The container has two separate "treatments", so if one isn't enough, you have another shot. I followed the instructions, and I am glad I did. They recommend pouring one treatment down the drain and allowing it sit for several hours or overnight. I allowed it to sit overnight in the drain pipe. Next day I boiled a large pot of water and poured it down the drain, as the instructions say. After a little while it seemed to have broken down some of the clog and it drained a bit faster that it had before, so that was a good sign. I decided that I would use the 2nd treatment. After pouring it in the drain and allowing to sit for several hours, I repeated the boiling water step, hoping that would finally do the trick. It did drain, but not very quickly. Getting impatient and not wanting to waste the money and effort, I grabbed my plunger and ran some hot water in the tub and started plunging like crazy. After several minutes of continual plunging gurgling noises and bubbles began to come out of the drain, and a couple more good plunges and the drain created a whirlpool and sucked all the water out of the tub, the drain was finally clear! After testing it a few times with hot water and seeing the drain completely empty the tub, I knew it had worked. So like I said, the Green Gobbler helped in removing the clog...EVENTUALLY, but not without a bit of physical effort, but that is fine! It did finally help me succeed and finally cleared my drain! Sure is nice to be able to use my shower without being up to my ankles in dirty shower water! I DO recommend this product, but do be prepared to help it do its job. If you don't have to, BONUS! I give it 4 out of 5 Stars because I still had to work at getting it unclogged. Not sure that's really fair, but maybe they will improve the formula so it won't require any physical effort to accomplish in the future.
