I was not expecting to like the Pure SEL as much as I did coming in! It’s basically a “mini” Kone Pro.Unboxing/setup: It comes in a small box and you get just the mouse with no accessories. MAKE SURE you REMOVE the blue plastic covers over the mouse feet. Once unboxed I recommend using it with a bungee as the cable is rather thick and rubber which is a shame. You can tweak the RGB and DPI settings with the new Swarm 2 software. *also to note the RGB looks blurry in person so I’d recommend just leaving it off.Weight/design: Comes in at 50g on my scale and it feels excellent! For the design as I mentioned it’s basically a mini Kone Pro, and it’s one of the better ergonomic shapes for sure. For reference my hands are 18.5x9 and I use a claw grip.Buttons: Uses mechanical switches and while they all feel great with no quality issues my M2 does sound very hollow.Sensor: It only packs 8K DPI, but the performance is surprisingly good. Tracks well in every situation and the LOD is low by default, so no worries! Incredibly, unbelievably lightweight. Feels smoother and faster than top ultra-light $150 gaming mice. I went from a 65 gram lightweight mouse to this roughly 45 gram mouse and the difference in my gameplay is notable. This mouse competes and beats the Razer Viper V3 Pro in swiftness and accuracy. The construction of the mouse is not compromised, and it feels well built. Also, the shape and coating work exceptionally well for me. The best mouse I have ever used, without a doubt.

What can I say, I was skeptical when I learned that Turtle Beach had acquired ROCCAT, because aside from headsets, I had no experience with their peripherals especially mice since that's not what they're known for. With that being said Turtle Beach has really done the burst justice with the Burst II, the shape (symmetrical), the weight 47g, solid shell with no holes, includes grip tape. I have no issues claw gripping this mouse, I'm already matching and exceeding my scores in Aim Lab. I like the placement of the dpi button very innovative in my opinion, scroll wheel is tactile and notched just like the original. The mouse skates are phenomenal right out of the box, granted I am currently using a glass pad they glide like butter. As I've stated I'm very impressed with Turtle Beach, I hope we as a mouse community can continue to benefit from this competition of pushing the envelope foward with gaming mice. If you are looking for a light weight symmetrical mouse you will not be disappointed with this mouse especially if you like the original Burst. I'm really hoping to see an 8k version eventually. With this debut mouse coming in at this price point, I feel as though TB is attempting to dance with the big boys right out the gate, Logitech, Razer, Pulsar etc. They're off to a good start of I must say for their first mouse.

The shape is NOT IDENTICAL to the Burst Pro!!!!!!!

The mouse itself is of high quality, with subtle side flex if you squeeze the mouse a lot. Good mouse clicks and mouse wheel. The issue is why change the dpi button location? Putting it on the front left side of the mouse forced them to change the shape. The front doesn't narrow as much as the Burst Pro in width or height, and now the mouse is 2-3mm longer...

Quite a shame, as the mouse in general is a decent ambi mouse. But it's pretty dang lame that Turtle Beach didn't stay true to the shape after Roccat's big flop with the Burst Pro Air, meanwhile took the name from the Burst Pro... This mouse would've been perfect, and everything all Burst Pro users were asking for, if they just kept the same dang shape...

This is why I only give it a 3*. It's performs and is built well (minus the minor sidewall flex), but it is not true to the Burst Pro and feels quite awkward in comparison. Also, $99 for a lightweight 1khz polling mouse? We can get similar, and better built devices that give 4k for the same price or ~$10 more..

Now, do we have to wait another year or two for Turtle Beach to get the Burst Pro wireless version successor correct...?

I have 19x10 cm hand I've tried every mouse it seems like. I've return every Razer mouse. My rotation is the G pro, the Op1we, and the and the Pulsar X2h. Once I put my hands on this I was so shocked. I was a fan of the shape of the Roccat Burst Pro but didn't like the weight or the RGB. It's the first mouse I've used that I don't think about how I grip it I just put it up and play. Incredible mouse shocking that it's turtle beach. I don't even feel like I have anything in my hand.

I've been purchasing Kone Pure mice for nearly a decade now. There's been a sizeable gap since the Kone Pure Ultra, and is this a worthy successor? I'd say so. The characteristic shape of the mouse might have been smoothed out a little, but it's not an unwelcome change. I think if you liked the shape, you'll be very happy with this. Those wishing for a smaller Kone Pro would also likely be satisfied.

No idea what they were thinking, they got so much right! Weight is perfect, I have had some wireless issues but did work fine connected via the cable. They changed the nose of the mouse, I rest my ring finger at the front corner which is now not possible as the mouse is rounded and lower at the front. Returned.

(BURST AIR 81g → BURST II AIR 47g)
