Bridesmaid for Hire Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn is back with a hilarious new rom-com series.

Sometimes the wedding of the century calls for desperate measures.

And sometimes those desperate measures are to pretend the person you hate most is actually your boyfriend.

After years of working her tail off at her event-planning business, Maggie Mitchell is ready for a vacation. With nothing on her mind but R & R, she’s enjoying the warm weather of Bora Bora when in saunters Brody McFadden, her brother’s best friend and also her sworn enemy. Thanks to years of tension between the two—kicked off by a make-out session at her brother’s wedding that ended horribly—Maggie has sworn to stay away from the man. That is, until she finds out he’s in Bora Bora for his boss’s daughter’s wedding, hoping to use the trip to win a real future at the company.

Maggie promised herself she wouldn’t even think of work on the island, but as word spreads about the “wedding of the century” taking place in the midst of her vacation, she realizes offering her services as a bridesmaid and planner could bring her business to the next level. The only catch? She needs to pose as Brody’s girlfriend to get the job…while letting him stay in her peaceful bungalow.

Tensions rise, irritation flairs, and despite years’ worth of bickering behind closed doors, Maggie can’t quite squash the sparks building between her and her new fake boyfriend, especially when she learns the real reason their first kiss was cut short. But as the wedding day draws closer and everything starts to go wrong, it just might be Brody who sends Maggie’s business crashing down—and her heart along with it.

Hilarious and spicy!
Meghan Quinn never disappoints when it comes to laugh-out-loud moments. I laughed so much throughout this whole story that my cheeks were starting to hurt. This is a fun and enjoyable read that is great for rom-com fans, and it has a heated spice that will leave readers blushing.Maggie and Brody are enemies bound to pose as a fake couple at a resort wedding. Maggie wants her business in the spotlight, while Brody is eager to advance his career. As the two are forced into close quarters, their buried feelings for one another threaten to expose their true emotions. From the very first chapters, I was team Brody. The number of times I wanted to console this guy was uncanny. But I give his character so much respect because, man, the embarrassment he faces in this story is unreal. Maggie is so charming and knows Brody needs her support. I loved their banter, and their shared pining for one another just added to the smoldering slow burn. The spice is definitely present in this one, and oh man, is it good. Overall, this is a cute and fun read that fans of the fae dating trope will enjoy.

I freaking loved Bridesmaid for Hire. It was entertaining and charming with fantastic characters. I loved the antagonistic relationship between Maggie and Brody, their verbal sparring, and watching it morph into something more. I loved the ins and outs of their history, the humor, the drama, and the exciting build to them coming together. There were so many hilarious scenes that had me cracking up, I couldn't get enough. This was an incredible read!

I loved Maggie and Brody and the witty barbs thrown between them. I loved how they were thrust together in this unique situation in Bora Bora, creating a countless number of hilarious scenes that had me laughing. I felt so much for Brody, he was such a good guy but could not catch a break and it seemed like the universe was against him while vacationing. This created some incredibly funny moments. I loved Maggie and how tenacious and outgoing she was, she had a heart of gold. I loved learning about their feelings and how long they'd been harboring them. I loved the growing want and need between them and thought there was great development. When their feelings started to come to life and Brody turned on the charm, I pretty much melted. I loved that building heat and sexual tension between them and when it finally unleashes, it was perfection. This baby was steamy hot!

There's a lot thrown at Maggie and Brody helping to create a lot of comical, lively moments. I liked the people involved and the various interactions bringing even more humor and a bit of drama and tension. Brody with the guys on the island was fun. I also liked Brody's relationship with Gary, Maggie's brother. It was a true bromance that was really quite sweet. There were characters mentioned from stories I have not read and now I'm excited to go back and read those books as well.

I loved this so much. It was laugh-out-loud funny, heartfelt, spicey, and sweet! I am a sucker for great banter and this story excelled with it. I absolutely recommend Bridesmaid for Hire. This book left me smiling and ridiculously happy!

Meghan Quinn reigns Queen of the Rom-Com's. No one, and I mean no one, has me cackling like her! This book was Honeymooners (Christina Lauren) with a sprinkle of the Cane Brothers and a giant scoop of spice.

Maggie & Brody are hilarious from the start. *MULTIPLE* times throughout this book I was hysterical. I even woke up the husband a couple times. When Maggie's cheek met Brody's toosh during the 3-legged race, the sneeze, the pull down, I can't! SO funny! Meghan also has a way with her words. She writes conversations so fluidly that you forget you are reading. Her books truly bring me into the moment like I am there for the entire story. Brody sure got rung through the ringer, this guy couldn't catch a break!

In true MQ form, we are reunited with some other favorites. Mainly the Cane brothers (insert heart eye emoji). I am very excited for Meghan to introduce us more formally to the newest Billionaire brother's in her world - the Hopper's. With Hardy's passion project dealing with almond's - I sure hope we get more of Hattie & Aubree and Almond Bay. You know Meghan never disappoints when it comes to expertly tying all of our favorite couples/worlds together.

Hudson Hopper - think Huxley
Hardy Hopper - think JP with a whole lot of Breaker

There isn't a single Meghan Quinn book that I don't recommend reading. Read them out of order, in order. Doesn't matter. You will enjoy amazing banter, hilarious situations, loyal friendships, spice, and always a HEA.

Tropes:
-Rom Com
-Fake Dating
-Forced Proximity
-One bed
-He falls first and hard
-Frenemies to lovers / Second Chance-ish

'I came to Bora Bora with one thing in mind, to find a guy in a speedo that would do dirty things to me. Well, there he is.'

"The hate was a mask for how I really felt"
"And how do you really feel?"
"Like I could be one happy **dude** with you in my life"

"Any chance I got, I looked your way. Sometimes it was to convince myself that I didn't have feelings for you. Other times it was because I was so desperate to look at you again..."

I like Meghan Quinn and usually fly through her books. She's a witty writer who does a great job building a summer read romance or a romcom, in fact she's usually my go to for a quickie romcom. So I dove right in.

It was cute, and had its moments. The character building was ok. The story was ok. It just was all ok. Which makes it my least favorite Meghan Quinn I've read.

The relationship between Brody and Gary 's weird. The quick turnaround in emotions makes some of it a little hard to believe. Then once the romance sparks the story kind of goes off the rails. It just becomes a little contrite and hard to imagine it actually happening. It's one of those "too good to be true or even fantasize" stories.

Sometimes I think it's bc I've read so many of the same books it makes it hard to appreciate the "twist" but I've still read romance books with a great "twist" even when it's predictable. And this one was just not. This was one where unless you're a young person having never been in a true relationship, you would be stuck around and talked about it. Or at least talked about it with someone you went to spend the night with to get the whole story. It was evident that this whole plot was built to make the story play out.

That said, I never thought about quitting. I got irritated with it and likely won't continue through the series. But the book had its moments and I appreciate the spice. I'd say 3/5 chilies just bc there weren't many scenes but the scenes in there were fire.

If you like Meghan Quinn and want to overlook a poor plot line, go ahead and read it. But she has better books out there that I'd start with.

While I have loved Meghan’s Cane bros series sometimes it’s nice to move away from the whole billionaire thing, and that’s exactly what we get with Brody, a man looking to get a leg up on his competition at work while trying to impress his boss at the boss’s daughter’s Bora Bora wedding. I loved that Brody was more of an ‘every man’ (while still being hot) rather than in total control of his life. Then we have Maggie, who’s also trying to impress to further her business and happens to be the sister of Brody’s best friend. Queue forced proximity, enemies to lovers and brothers best friend! Add in the absolutely horrible father of the bride and Brady’s boss, Daddy Reggie and we have ourselves quite the rollercoaster ride.
Oh and I love the connections to the Cane brothers and Almond Bay too. A nonstop read for me.

“ Yup, you’ve guessed it, Maggie Mitchell is my dream girl. “

Maggie is on a well deserved vacation with plans to have an epic fling, then she finds out about the big wedding happening and the family who could get her business on the map.

“The hold he has on me. I hate that I like it so much.”

Brody’s mentor sends him to Bora Bora to get on their bosses good side who is there for his daughters wedding before his major pitch. He goes with no plan but he wasn’t expecting his best friends sister to show up and announce they are dating.

“I don’t need space from you, Maggie.”

Maggie and Brody decide to keep up the charade during their 10 day vacation to hopefully get what they both want. But the thing is, they don’t have the best relationship and have to share a room since Brody had no where to stay.

This book had me out right cackling for about 80% of the book. When the family realizes they are short a bridesmaid, Maggie offers to step in and help by replacing that bridesmaid and helping Haisley, the bride, with anything she may need.

The family invites them to their wedding week festivities but it seems like Brody doesn’t have the best luck. The situations they get themselves into was so entertaining to read and his inner monologue was absolutely hilarious.

I loved their mutual pining, the banter, the chemistry between them and what they get to explore when certain truths of their past is revealed.

I love how unexpected characters step up to help these two when bombs get dropped and the new friendships that they made.

Next up is Hardy and Evelyn and I literally can’t wait!

2.0 out of 5 stars a lot of unkind, grasping people, a lot of vulgar humor

The author writes well, and very fluently, so if you like the sample, you will like the book.

I did not like anyone, the characters were all superficial, funny in a mean way, and acted on impulse all the time. Particularly the heroine was constantly mean to the hero, in oh so many small ways. Even apologizing she managed to get a kick in.

Also, women who feel justified in always criticizing men, for the way they dress, the way they eat, the way they pack or unpack, etc. etc. - while constantly thinking about their sexy bodies - not my cup of tea.

In all, humor is hard to do right, and very individual - maybe all I hated is super funny banter to others. The book is well written for what it is, so a second star for that.
