How to Plant Drought Tolerant Wildflowers
When to Plant
For Spring planting, it is best to plant within a month after the final frost of the winter season.
For Fall planting, plant the seeds after the first frost to eliminate any chance of germination. Planting in the Fall gives you a jump start on Spring blooms.
Where to Plant
Though many Drought Tolerant wildflowers do tolerate some shade, and a few actually thrive in it, the vast majority prefer a sunny environment. Wildflowers will generally grow in all but the most difficult conditions.
How to Plant
Clear the area and soften the soil before planting your seeds. For larger areas, use a seed spreader to create a better dispersion of the seeds. After the seeds have been sown, lightly compress the seeds into the soil about 1/4" to protect from birds. Keep the soil moist until germination begins.

Good quantity of seeds but Packaging is Missing Packing or Expiration Dates
These seeds arrived at the end of the planting season, so I can’t say that I have had a chance to plant them yet, but I have ordered seeds from this company before and do not doubt that the seeds will germinate, as everything else I have ordered from Created by Nature has germinated without issue. I am impressed that all the Latin names of each variety of flower are listed, so you know exactly what you are getting. This brand didn’t use to do that, so it looks like they took some of my older reviews to heart where I was disappointed in that missing information.I am excited by the large quantity of seeds in this packet. It says there are over 67,000, but of course they didn’t count them when packaging them, but the package does weigh 1.9-ounces including the packaging, although it does indicate that inert materials have been added to the mix to aid in uniform seed distribution, but it doesn’t indicate what those inert materials might be.Many of these drought tolerant flowers are also deer resistant and as a result are easy to grow and can be direct sown before the last frost date. These are also great varieties for attracting pollinators, which I am using in conjunction with my vegetable garden for that purpose. I am also pleased to see that many of these flowers are perennials, so I need only plant these once in my flower garden raised beds for them to reappear on their own year after year.I am deducting one star from my review, however, because there is no expiration date, packing date, or packed-for-season date, so there is no way to tell how old these seeds might be.
