There are a lot of things I like about the Bobtot portable blue tooth speaker. It is well designed and solidly built, compact and easy to carry, and at 30 watts, very powerful for a speaker this size. It has blue tooth 5.1, so it connects easily and does not drop the signal., It also gives you a decent range of movement. The speaker has party lights, side lighting which changes color and pulses with the music. It comes with a mic and can be used for karaoke. For me, the sound quality is always the most important thing with any piece of audio equipment I am looking at, and the Bobtot speaker has pretty decent sound. At 60-18hz it is almost full range. That they provided audio specs says something about the company, because few will, and that range is better than many of the most popular speakers in this size and price range. It is a little noisy at the top of the range when the volume is turned up, but the speaker breaks in nicely. After a few hours the nose almost disappears and really is only noticeable towards the top of the volume range.It is flexible, with an sd card slot and aux in as well as blue tooth, and karaoke. I has a good sized battery, which will last all day and then some, and is ipx 7 rated, which is really waterproof. (many claim that with a much lower rating).I really like that the controls are back lit, making them much easier to see than on most speakers which tend to be black on black, or other tone on tone. The controls are sensible and intuitive. There is an eq, but I can not really tell what it does. As best I could figre out (because it is not discussed in the manual) there are 3 eq settings, but because of the very heavy accent of whoever did the voice on this, I can not tell what those setting are, except 'normal'. That said there is not custom setting and you can not control treble and bass, though you see that very infrequently on portable blue tooth speakers. The bass is rich but not extreme. It's a good casual, outdoor speaker, one of the bhetter in this price range.I am not quite sure if it plays all of the lossless formats as the manual says it plays MP3, FLAC, WMA and ALEC, so I do not know if it plays uncompressed files like WAV. (I am now in the process of converting our very extensive library to wav, and that will take a while). It works well with streaming services, which do not, by and large, test the limits on range, detail, precision. It is pretty impredssive for a speaker this size, power, at this price point.I actually use all the star ratings, and my understanding is that 4 stars means better than average, which this is. I have tried *a lot * of blue tooth speakers and I do think this one is better than most. I am pretty particular about sound, so most of my 5 star speaker have full range sound, lossless transfer (aptx, ldac) maybe some other bells and whistles, but sound quality is most important for me, and this speaker is pretty good, not audiophile, but a good outdoor speaker which is easy to carry, can hold up to the elements, has good battery life, and plays from a variety of sources. I was overall pretty impressed once I got past the long burn in... but that is a one time thing.
