Searched around. They all looked the same. Finally picked one that made small batches (about 1 qt) and had its own cooling, so I didn't have to mess around with a frozen bowl or anything. I'm often disappointed with new gadgets and sometimes have to buy a few to find the right one for me. Nope. This is the right one, and I got it on the first try. So easy to use. So easy to clean. Not sure why it's evaluated on airtight storage, because I store the ice creams or sorbets I make in my own glass or plastic storage units. I've made 11 so far. The first following the recipe that came with the machine. Worked great. Then I immediately started trying out my own recipes. Banana sorbet, Nutella ice cream, blueberry ice cream from fresh betteries. added mini chopped chocolate chips and chopped walnuts. Super easy. Takes 40-60 minutes, then quick clean up, and then on to the next recipe. Really amazing how easy it is to use. Tonight I made both canteloupe sorbet and canteloupe ice cream from a fresh canteloupe, one from a recipe, and one I just made myself. Both are yummy.
1 qt was the way to go for me. I only have a few bites after dinner, so 1 qt lasts me and my partner about a week.

This ice cream maker is my latest obsession! It's so easy and convenient, churning a pint of ice cream in just 25 to 45 minutes. I can confidently say it produces smooth and delicious ice cream compared to gourmet ice cream shop on top of it you no need to freeze the container, making it hassle-free and perfect for quick.
Cheaper than paying $6 -$7 or more per scoop of commercial ice cream or frozen yoghurt.
Make 20 healthy gourmet ice cream batches in the machine to cover the cost.
I figured out that when you lock the lid on, the arrow needs to be pointed at the unlocked icon on the machine before turning it to the locked position. The problem is that there’s more than one way to put the top on the machine and turn it to lock it. My arrow was pointing to a different location, and even though it locked in place, it just beeped, once I got it pointed the right direction, it started up right away.

Here's a simple tip for extra smoothness without an egg custard: make your base, add flavorings, heat on stove, add a cornstarch slurry to thicken, cool down in fridge and then churn. Put in your add-ins 5 minutes before it finishes churning.

I was sent a defective product. I prepped the machine, mixed my ice cream ingredients (cream is not cheap) abs continued to follow the operation instructions. The machine would never power on. I tried multiple outlets that I am sure work. No power.

Very disappointing.

By the way, they market this as a 1.1 quart but the instructions say you aren't allowed to fill more than 60% of that. Very misleading.

I suspect the bad reviewers mostly were hasty and did not set the paddle correctly,, maybe filled it too much, left it running beyond the correct time, and were expecting more than what this machine costs. For a tabletop device that can freeze it's very inexpensive. I'm not an engineer so I don't know if a plastic paddle could have been replaced, or if a stronger motor would not be sensitive to the protective functions. Quit the gripping and eat the fresh ice cream already.
