Little bigger than I imagined but it actually fits 12 cans without the inner basket; 8 on the bottom and 4 layed on top. This is going to be my new favorite mini cooler for when going to small family events or picnics and not having to take too many drinks in a big heavy cooler.

This is perfect for one person. Don't expect you'll get more than that. It does a good job at keeping things cool but not cold for over 8 hours. I found I needed to add an additional chemical ice pack to really keeping things good for more than 6 hours in 90 deg shade. The included ice pack sits in the lid and is pretty small for the volume inside. It's not a thing of wonder science invention but it is sufficient.

Well built and perfect size for a 8 hr workday. 3 things that I don't like about it but no big deal. 1. Ice pack is way to small. I won't use it anyway. 2 the top lid is hard to open it with one hand. 3 the handle is mounted on the lid I prefer to be on the cooler itself.
Overall I'm very happy with this lunch cooler. Will order the next size up.

The pelican cooler looks and functions great with the dry storage and the shelf inside but this cooler does not!!!!! Hold ice. I’ve taken it to work outside (I’m in construction) and by the end of the day it’s water. I’ve also had it inside all day just to test it and it’s the same thing doesn’t hold ice well. For same price I probably could of gotten a yeti

It’s good for a small lunch box if you are transporting items from one refrigerator to another to store for lunch. Ice doesn’t stay frozen for more than a couple of hours and that’s when it’s stored indoors. If the cooler is kept outdoors in 85+ temps the ice might last an hour. If you want a cooler that keeps drinks cold and ice stays frozen pick a different brand. Not worth the money. Pelican should be ashamed for putting their name on this cooler.

All right so I’ve been using this cooler for about a month or two, it’s not bad for a single lunch where you can put in two plastic Rubbermaid containers (one large and one sandwich sized one will fit), if you go this method you can fit in two cans, utensils and some snacks can still fit on top
I usually use four additional small ice packs along with the built in and it keeps it pretty cool for 8 hours, it will start to taper off around that mark

If you do driving where you want a lot of drink options and food / snacks you would benefit out of going for something larger than the 8qt

The top section is large enough to fit a log book and some pens into it

This cooler is just what I was looking for my work lunches.

-Perfect size for my lunch, drinks and ice pack (small size Cryopak)
-The top compartment is great for holding napkins, plastic cutlery and my toothpick case
-The top tray is perfect size for my lunch items, and keeps them safe from being crushed by my drinks and the ice pack that I use underneath. The top lid removable ice pack helps keep my sandwich tasting fresh at lunch-time.
-Keeps the cold in very well, even on a hot day.

Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. The only drawback I can think of is the top compartment catch is a little difficult to operate, especially with only one hand, but other than that, I've been impressed.
