Only Him: Only One, Book 1 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

I wasn’t supposed to catch feelings for my best friend’s older brother.

It started with a letter and grew into us confessing our secrets.

Then he left, taking my shattered heart with him.

Twelve years later, he’s back.

We have to keep our distance. If we fall for each other, everything will fall apart.

But then I’m blackmailed into marrying another man, and the guy who broke my heart is the only one who can save me.

Only Him is a second-chance, small-town romance and is a bundled stand-alone from the Tyler & Gemma duet.

this is the first book in the only one series and i loved it so much! i absolutely LOVED tyler in liam and maddie (book three in the roommate series) and i was so glad he had his own story. tyler and gemma become pen pals while he is deployed and she is still in high school. tyler is gemma’s best friend’s (everleigh) older brother. they become very closer and when tyler finally comes home they have a chance to be together. they spend the summer together and it is everything they had dreamed of. when tyler is ready to move on and leave their small town, gemma is not ready. so they end things and tyler leaves town. twelve years later tyler is back and working for gemma’s dad at his garage. gemma is engaged to an older man but is starting to question if she really wants to be with him. there was so much suspense and drama in this book. i ate it up— and it always kept me on my toes. the chemistry between tyler and gemma was so good. it made you root for them the entire time. i love how protective tyler was over gemma. they really had to fight to be together and you could really tell they were always meant to be. i can’t wait to read the rest of this series! it left me craving more.four and a half stars / two and a half chili pepperstropes:- best friends brother- small town- second chance- it’s always been you- workplace romance

Premise of book was great, but could have been 200 pages shorter. Gemma needed a backbone concerning Robert. She was too naive in a lot of aspects. Wanted to jump into the book to punch him! Tyler was her savior. He went through a lot to get where he was. Too a while to get through book and ended up skipping pages. Have always loved every book from this author and own many.

If there’s one thing Kennedy Fox knows how to do it’s making you hungry for more.
From the moment there was even a hint of a story with Tyler I was immediately desperate for it. Like a bloodhound I was on the trail for Tyler and his much deserved happily ever after. I greedily lapped up every second of their story. Going in, I expected it to be a sweet and slow second chance with emotion weaved in while I watched Tyler do everything in his power to get his forever woman. But, Kennedy Fox decided that nice and easy was not the road they were taking with these two. I was unprepared for the tumultuous roller coaster of a ride that was Tyler and Gemma. It’s a wonder my jaw isn’t permanently on the floor with the bombshells dropped. Tyler truly lived up to the man I had come to know and love...a guy who would stop at nothing to protect the woman he loved and it was a beautiful thing.

Tor Thom and Lia Langola made for the perfect Tyler and Gemma! Their performance enhanced every feel this story had.

Tyler and Gemma knew each other as kids then Tyler joined the military and Gemma began writing him letters. Even though she is his sister’s best friend and 4 years younger, these two found that spark and connection. When he left the military, they shared an amazing summer but Tyler didn’t want to stay in Lawton Ridge and Gemma didn’t want to leave with him. It’s now 12 years later and Tyler has just gotten out of prison and returned home. What Gemma doesn’t expect is for her father to hire him to work at their family garage. Their feelings are still there, bubbling under the surface but Gemma is engaged to Robert. I don’t like Robert and his controlling and manipulating ways. I want Gemma to wake up and realize she is going through the motions. AUGH! Tyler has skeletons in his past from living in Vegas which may try to destroy what he is building as he restarts his life. These two are an amazing couple but they have a huge obstacle to tackle named Robert. He definitely knows how to manipulate to get whatever he wants. Has he met his match in Gemma? Buckle up for a wild ride to find out.

This book was a little too long and wordy. However, it was a decent read. I skimmed the book, a lot and skipped some of the wording. I would recommend it.

I enjoyed this story, but Holy Cow.....I find myself hanging by a thread!! I could not out this book down and now I really really need book 2.
Tyler and Gemma have a short but beautiful history. Tyler left and wound were made. They never got the closure each needed. Gemma is moving on and she is even engaged.
I love Tyler ever since he was brought into Liam and Maddie's story. I am team Tyler all the way
Tyler and Gemma are my most favorite couple! This book was so Great...I could not have predicted what the outcome would be. I was not able to put this book down and have lost many sleepless hours, but have loved every moment of it!

The storyline was good but I got so tired of the characters smirking all the time. Then they started snorting. Honestly this author needs to find more ways to express emotions.

I loved this story of Gemma and Tyler!! She was his sister's best friend. Gemma has crushed on Tyler since middle school. They grew close by writing letters to each other when Tyler was in the service. They dated when he got out. But he wanted out of town to see the world and she wanted to stay there. Years later, and several mistakes, he comes back to town. You have to read the book to find out what happens but you won't be disappointed! Love this book!!

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 stars – True love will never be denied!

Now bearing in mind I have the audacity to call myself a KF fan, I have a confession to make… *mumbles* I’veneverreadtheLawtonRidgeduetseries! There! I said it. *hangs head in shame*

So, when it was announced that the authors were repackaging each duet as a boxset, I was all over it. It was time to right this wrong! *thumps fist down* (A tad dramatic I’ll grant you, but… *shrugs*)

Does everyone have their trope checklist handy? Okay, so we have:

• Small town romance
• Second chance romance
• Best friend’s brother
• Slow burn

I need to state for the record that that last one nearly did me in. Pfft, patience I have not! *smiles wryly*

Can you imagine returning home for a fresh start to find the one woman you have always loved is engaged to another man?!!

Then.. then! Can you imagine trying to finally move on from your first love by agreeing to marry a seemingly ‘perfect’ man and said first love comes back into town?!! Talk about bad timing. Or is the perfect time?!!

Ugh! *bangs head on table* The angst! The angst. Was. Real.

And don’t even get me started on everything else that was going on… secrets uncovered, true colours revealed, old enemies resurfacing. And did I mention the slow burn? I’m sure I’ll have mentioned the slow burn!!! Argh! *blows cheeks*

As a complete newbie to Tyler and Gemma’s story I loved the romantic suspense plotline. It was full of dramatic twists and turns that kept me hooked right to the very end. I don’t know how many times I screamed ‘NOOOO!!’ at my kindle screen.

Sure, I had to suspend my disbelief a couple of times but that’s what good fiction is all about.

Next up are Noah and Katie, *snaps big girl panties* I. Am. Ready!

3.0 out of 5 stars Fine if you like people who ‘smirk’
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 1, 2023
This book is fine, not the best ever but for a freebie, it’s good enough. The storyline isn’t exactly believable, but you don’t read romance for gritty realism.

However, I really hate authors who overuse smirk and after falling over so many times, I did a search; 94. 94 times a character responds with a smirk. If you can live with that, give it a try.

4.0 out of 5 stars Small town romance with big city issues

Tyler joined up at eighteen and was posted abroad. Gemma, his fourteen year old sister's friend, writes to him, and they fall in love by letter. Four years later, he is back in time for her graduation and they become lovers, but Tyler wants to leave Lawton Ridge, and Gemma doesn't. Twelve years later, he's back and she's engaged.
A small town story, a fine romance with a cunning series of twists and turns. Tyler has a complex back story, which left me feeling that I was reading book two of a series, and I was never quite comfortable with that aspect. Overall, an enjoyable read.

A good read. Liked all the characters, although not a fan of protracted relationships and poor communicators. However these two work and good read.
