Kiss and Don't Tell Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

Five hockey players, a cabin in the woods...and little old me, Winnie Berlin.

Sounds like the start of a fantasy, right? But it's not. It's my reality.

It all started when I got lost in the middle of the Canadian Rockies. A wicked thunderstorm sent my car mud sliding into a ditch, and for a girl whose survival skills involve finding the nearest Starbucks, I was in deep trouble.

Forced to abandon my car in search of help, I stumbled upon a cabin in the middle of nowhere. Soaking wet, irritated, and in desperate need of a hot shower, I knocked on the door for help only to be greeted by five boisterous, burly, and insanely attractive men.

Not just men.

Professional hockey players.

I hit the motherload of fantasies, right? Wrong.

Because as it turns out, one of them is my ex-boyfriend's half-brother. And when I end up crashing in their spare bedroom for the night, things take a very unexpected turn.

I'm not sure any amount of survival skills can protect my heart from Vancouver Agitators star goalie, Pacey Lawes. But as long as we kiss and don’t tell, maybe everything will be okay....

This book was absolutely perfection!!! I loved everything about this book. Winnie falling into any woman's dream situation when she has to take shelter at a house filled with 5 professional hockey players. All of the guys have such unique characteristics and I loved getting to meet them and I can't wait to read each of their books. (I feel like Holmes will be my favorite)Pacey is just so adorable and I loved him. I love how Pacey and Winnie just hit it off right away and they just felt so comfortable with each other. The banter and chemistry between these two were off the charts and I loved watching them interact. They both just felt so safe with each other and I loved how they learned to just support the other. Pacey helping Winnie work out was so sweet and I loved how supportive he was with it.I had the biggest smile on my face the entire way through the book, except for the third act breakup. I hate a third act breakup, but I feel this one was done really well. I was so happy with how Pacey went about fixing their relationship. It is so different from so many other books, it was great to just switch it up. I also loved how everyone deferred to Holmes when it came time to text Winnie!!! 100% recommend this book and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

This is book 1 in the Vancouver Agitators Series, a hockey romance. Each story is an interconnected standalone that will follow 1 player and his love interest. You can read this series in any order but I recommend starting with this one as it gives a lot of background on the players and a great look at their personalities.

***I listened to this book on audio. The narrators are Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin. First let me say that these 2 narrators knocked this book out of the park. I love Jason and everything he does. His voice is so versatile and his voices are all so different. I had no trouble with the large cast and trying to figure out who was talking. Vanessa is a new to me narrator but man she is talented. I loved her voices and inner monologue to herself. she had me laughing so hard. I haven't enjoyed an audio book and laughed this hard in a long time. I am looking forward to more books by these very talented narrators.

This story was so dang funny and the perfect book to get me out of a slump. This was a slow burn between Winnie and Pacey. Both characters were fun to get to know and their insecurities were a breath of fresh air. Pacey was dealing with a lot after his head injury and poor Winnie was coming off of a terrible relationship and the death of her mother. Both Winnie and Lacey were in the perfect spot to help each other through every tough situations and I loved their journey together. This book is a perfect summer read and the perfect balance of humor, romance and angst. I enjoyed this read and will be moving right along to book 2.

Kiss and Don’t Tell is a feel-good rom-com with a bit of drama featuring Pacey Lewis, a pro hockey player, and a group of his teammates who are vacationing in the beautiful mountains in Canada in their downtime. The fun begins when Winne’s car gets stuck and she stumbles upon their cabin in woods and these five hotties offer her shelter from the heavy rain.

I really enjoyed so much about this book, mainly the central characters. Pacey had never been in a relationship and I love how smitten he was with Winnie right from the start. He was so patient and respectful and really took the time to get to know her. Winnie was on a solo adventure as her mother recently passed and she had to right a wrong (so funny), and she was unsure of her future career-wise. The teammates made me laugh out loud several times as the author has a great sense of humor and her wit comes out in her writing.

I loved her spirit and how humble Winnie was. While she was impressed at their athletic achievements, she wasn’t fan-girling all over them. Each of the teammates had their own unique personality. I loved how supportive they were of one another, and how they could be honest as well as joke around– a genuine brotherhood.

Pacey and Winnie were so at ease with one another and I loved their flirty banter. Their desire was evident on every page and I routed for these two the entire time and the author did not disappoint. So much steam and sweetness! Pacey was keeping a secret—which never goes over well, and it gets him in a heap of hot water. Winnie was reserved when she first arrived, not wanting to intrude, and nursing a broken heart–by the loss of her mom and her ex-boyfriend Josh who had secrets of his own. And my what a difference a few days, weeks, and months make towards her self growth.

I don’t want to give away any spoilers so you will have to read this for yourself, but I loved how Pacey planned to get his girl back in the end and succeeded. It was so beautifully described how they fell in love day by day. So sweet and swoony.

A couple things I wasn’t crazy about, thus the four stars instead of five… it was confusing for me to read Pacey and then Posey (his friend, another hockey player). Her friend Katherine had paranoia issues which were fun to read at first, but really annoying after awhile. She really wasn't such a great friend always being negative, and I found myself skimming through her parts thinking what a downer she was to be around.

I really loved the character development, not only for our hero and heroine but for the supporting cast as well. I did read this was book a standalone, and would love to read more about the players and even the chef, so I am hoping it does become an inter-related series!

***5 ‘Jenga’ Stars***

My book loving heart is all kinds of twitterpated swoony happy over this book!

It gave me all the goodness I could ask for and then some.

It was a fun, laugh out loud, quick read filled with great characters that I NEED more of and left my cheeks hurting from all the grinning I was doing while reading it.

I ADORED Pacey and Winnie. ADORED. Pacey is a sweetheart. The man is observant, charming and just an all around good guy. He does have a few issues that he needs to deal with, but saying he is a good man is an understatement. Winnie is sweet, sassy, sneaky and a little snarky. She’s a little lost in life and definitely gets stuck in her head at times, but she has a golden heart that makes her easy to connect with.

Their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun. Things do happen a bit quickly between them, but it worked for me because there was a spark between them that from the moment they collided that was undeniable. That and the fact that Winnie was basically stranded and didn’t have too many options open to her. With the forced proximity in play and the fact that they were just drawn to each other, they got to know each other quite well. Their bantering was a lot of fun and the chemistry between them was hard to deny. Now, the issue of the ex-boyfriend/half brother does come up and it does have an effect on Winnie and Pacey in more ways than one, but I have to say that I’m good with how it all played out. I also loved how the big roadblock that was dropped in front of them was dealt with. It was pretty much perfect and I loved how everything worked out for them in the end.

As I said at the start, this was a great read. It’s more on the fun, sweet, sm@x^ side than angsty, though it does have it’s drama and heartbreaking moments, but mostly, fun. The crazy is there, though mostly in the form of the supporting characters. Now, I adored all of the Pacey and Winnie’s friends ~ even if it took me a bit to warm up to one of them ~ and I did have to take notes on Pacey’s crew to keep them straight, but I loved them all and cannot wait to see the future has in store for all of them!

I tend to dislike Meghan's books since I read Knox and his friend's books, they were so hard for me, their break ups, because of how much time they took to reunite, how they lost years, but this one is not like this if you were afraid of it. They are perfect and the development is too. How he deals with her insecurities was so sweet and incredible. I recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top notch sports romance
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 18, 2022
It’s been a while since I’ve read a sports romance and this book only reminds me why I love them!

A delicious meet cute situation leads us to our wonderful h Winnie and our delicious hockey player H Pacey.
Winnie is on an adventure when her car gets stuck during a horrific storm. She walks and finds a house with its lights on and stumbles across our brood of hunky hockey men who are on their break during the off season. With no where else to go, Winnie has no choice but to accept the hospitality extended to her (reluctantly in one case) and stay at the house. Our H Pacey feels like he knows Winnie but can’t place her. He and Winnie grow close in a short amount of time, they spend a lot of time together while waiting for Winnie’s car to be sorted and the extent of their feelings shock them both. Pacey realises where he knows Winnie from - she is his estranged brothers ex girlfriend - when Winnie begins to speak of her last relationship. Of course it wouldn’t be a romance novel without a stupid H keeping secrets that will certainly blow up in everyone’s faces 🤦🏼‍♀️ but….
because it’s a romance we do get a beautiful, dreamy, satisfying HEA.

There is obviously drama, there is definitely angst, banter and chemistry galore, some amazing secondary characters, a beautiful love story, sexy times, and lots of promise for future stories with our band of hockey players at the heart.

Beautiful 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read!
