Heartbroken!

Heartbroken!
I was so eager to try my new Tasty Ice Cream Maker by Cuisinart and was thrilled to learn that my package would be here on the 8th of February, just 4 days after I ordered it. Since its arrival, I've tried every possible way to attach the motor to the rest of the machine. Frankly, even the Hulk couldn't do it without breaking it! I followed the instructions from another user and tried her way. No luck. So then I went back to the Amazon photo of the inside of the freezer portion: I've posted the Amazon view of the inside of the freezer "bowl" as the second shot; it's nice and round, no ridges, no areas pushed up like the bowl I received has. My shot captures the inside of what I received of the freezer "bowl"; it's the first one. They're definitely not the same! I thought it was me!I don't want to send the machine back if I don't have to. I DO want a NEW freezer bowl and not one that is apparently used or broken as you can see in the shot I've uploaded of what I received. The inside of the bowl is not lavender or purple. My plant light in my kitchen skewed the color. It's silver like it's supposed to be.I really would appreciate if the company would step up to the plate and not make me call Amazon--although I'm certainly willing to at this point. This is just wrong! My excitement obviously fizzled, and I haven't even tried to make ice cream yet! Like another person said, I too was thrilled to get a Cuisinart product. Boy oh boy did that eagerness fizzle!UPDATE: The replacement Tasty by Cuisinart arrived on the 15th of February. That one had a triangular warping inside the cylinder. I immediately repacked the 2nd one and Amazon refunded the money. I got an ice cream maker from a different manufacturer and I'll at last freeze the bowl this weekend. So far, no problems and I don't expect there to be any. Tasty by Cuisinart did *not* live up to the Cuisinart name.

I bought this ice cream maker for my daughter. It made it here on her birthday. Yay 😁 she loves it.. she can make cream anytime she wants and I don't have to buy ice or salt rock. I forget if salt rock is the correct name. It's a small canister that gets put in freezer. All I do is move frozen food around so it fits. My freezer is never jam packed so it's easy to do. I personally think the best part of having a ice cream maker is I know what ingredients are put into the ice creamand you can add your flavor, haven't tryed adding fruit yet. Store bought ice cream is sketchy. I started reading ingredients on all foods which has led me to make a change. The most recent label I read was on chicken breast. I know it's off subject. Read the labels you'll be shocked.

I was so excited to buy an ice cream maker but it turned out to be a piece of junk. Very disappointed especially being a Cuisinart. I put the freezer bowl in the freezer for over 2 days. Ensured that my custard is super chilled. It did nothing. my custard remained fluid. A piece of counter space junk

I didn't want a fancy/complicated ice cream maker, nor did I want one that made enough to feed an army. This machine worked out well for me.

Pros:
- easy to operate
- easy to clean
- makes ice cream/frozen yogurt in 20 minutes or less.
- the few recipes I tried in the instruction booklet were excellent.
- easy to set up, no rock salt or ice needed. (hint: don't pour into the spout with a bowl, I found it less messy to pour from a batter bowl or a large measuring cup.)
- reasonably priced

Cons:
- you have to freeze the inside container (they recommend 24 hours, but I found overnight was fine), which means you either have to plan ahead or take up freezer space to store it there. I have another freezer, so that was fine with me.
- the iced confections do adhere to the inside of the frozen container - I used a flat scoop to scrape it off the side, and ended up scratching the inside. This hasn't impacted the performance, but the inside is beaten up- so use a non-abrasive scoop.

Good to know:
-this can only hold 1 1/2 quarts of ice cream. So you need to pay attention to the recipe quantity.
- the cover does come apart from the motor for easy cleaning. I hand washed, but put the paddle in the dishwasher.
- an ice cream recipe I made took the full 20 minutes, but the yogurt took about 15-16- so you shouldn't leave the device un-attended after its been running awhile.

This might be considered user error but I scraped ice cream out of the bowl with a spoon one day and far too late did I realize that I had been eating the paint layer with it too- the spoon had been scraping the paint from the inside of the ice cream bowl to reveal the metal beneath and that really freaked me out so I don't use it anymore.
I definitely want to get one that has a safer inner lining or perhaps I just need to not use metal on the bowl but either way, definitely something to be aware of when using this.
I will also say you definitely want the bowl to be as cold as possible and making the ice cream in small batches is best to get a real ice cream consistency but hey it sure tasted good!

Tips-
- don't use metal utensils in the bowl
- have your ice cream base ready before you take the bowl out of the freezer and immediately start mixing it
- if the ice cream machine has turned off/said it's done but the cream isn't the consistency you want, have no fear! Just turn it back on and let it run some more
