We purchased a lake house. Like most, sewage is managed with a septic system, which requires the homeowner to use certain products, and avoid the use of others, as use of some chemicals will adversely affect the performance of the septic tank. I use Simply Tide at our other home, and it performs well. I tried several septic-safe laundry detergents before I finally found Tide Purclean at a small grocery store near our lake home. It is septic tank safe. With the first load, there was a noticeable difference. I found with the other three brands I had used prior to finding Tide Purclean, stains were not completely removed, even with pre-treatment. I often had to wash stained garments twice, and there was no guarantee that the second wash would remove that stain better than the first. I’ve found the Tide Purclean is superior to the other detergents I tried for stain removal, and the general brightness of garments after washing. I ordered several bottles from Amazon, because it cannot be found in the larger grocery chain near by, and it is often sold out at the smaller grocery store where I first found it. I suppose other people have discovered it does a better job too!

I would recommend ordering this online. The lid must have come real loose in transit. Small box was saturated & blackened in color with 3/4 of the jug being empty. Deliver guy just stuck it in a thin clear plastic bag & I had a mess to clean up. Amazon immediately gave me a full refund. I did use the little left in the bottle. Laundry came out very clean with no residue or oder. Will just buy this free & clear product in the store.

This is the best detergent out there. When I first bought it, they would have a big tape over the top and it was great. Target does sane thing. The last delivery from Amazon, it wasn’t sealed and it went all over the box it came in and got all over other things I ordered and half was gone. I did the return but when I went to take it where return said they said they couldn’t take opened liquids and to call a number for Amazon. I did and after 20 minutes she said she wasn’t sure why but it wasn’t letting her do the return and to call back another day. I won’t buy it from Amazon again but it’s a great product.
