I purchased a shortwave radio and had it for 6 months and the antenna selector for the Hi-Z and 50 Ohm connectors would not function anymore. The rotary encoder for the volume control was not working all the time too. The radio was well taken care of and not abused, it failed on its own not due to some manufacturing issues. I called Asurion with this issue with the radio and they went through the questions of what happened. They were very helpful and in about 20 minutes I was assured that they would help me. A few hours later I was given an Amazon Gift card for the purchase amount of the radio and it was sent to my email. This was tremendously helpful and I was able to replace my defective radio with this Gift Card Credit. I am happy that I can listen to my radio again and all aspects of it work perfectly. It took over 2 months for Asurion to get me my refund. They took their sweet time and I had to call over 10 times throughout the 2 months for them to do anything. Don't expect your protection plan to protect anything.
My noise cancelling headphones broke, it was easy to create a claim through the Asurion website, send the product to Asurion (clear instructions, at home pick up from UPS). Within 3 days we received an update that the product could not be repaired, and Asurion sent us gift card to replace the product through Amazon. Quick, easy and very happy with the customer service support.
