Lift the toilet seat. To remove cap, squeeze the two textured side surfaces and unscrew completely. Tip the bottle to fill the neck. It's convenient bottle shape allows you to reach under the rim of the bowl easily. One bottle last better than others. After letting the gel work it's magic for a few minutes, it's a super easy removing of icky away. Overall best toilet bowl cleaner in my opinion

This product works well. However, it contains hydrochloric acid. That may not be safe for all septic systems. They need to make this ingredient more obvious.

Some people claim if it is diluted with water, it will not harm a sand mound septic system.

An internet search states: "Many commercial toilet-bowl cleaners contain bleach and some even use hydrochloric acid. While the acid does effectively dissolve the calcium carbonate deposits in the water, it is also a harmful chemical that will kill off the bacteria in your septic system."

Still, I use it everyday. So am looking for a more septic safe product.

I had pretty serious mineral deposit gunge in the toilet bowl. I tried a concentrated vinegar soak, two products (pour and spray) of a product that specializes in Calcium Lime Rust, and a product that aims to make Life Better with natural ingredients and scents. All of them left layers and layers of crunchy gunk.

This stuff on the other hand -- one thorough squirt around the bowl and giving it around an hour to oozse down the bowl walls into the basin -- and everything came off like it was just a stuck on piece of toilet paper. Zero resistance to the brush.

Not only this but you also can't beat the price.

My advice: Don't even bother with the frustration of other methods for removing limescale. Just use this and be amazed and relieved and satisfied and completely done with it in less than an hour.

Do be careful though. This is one of those products where it's really important to need the warnings on the label because it's really strong stuff. The active ingredient is hydrochloric acid, and it's not a minor concentration.
