A mesh and rubber panel surrounds the nose and mouth, allowing air to travel freely in and out while keeping your face toasty warm and dry — and keeping moisture off of your goggles and glasses.

Very good but not perfect
I wore it for a full day of skiing and it was very comfortable. It gets very wet inside like any balaclava but the flexible rubber face shield doeswhat I hoped it would, which is create a little space between my mouth and the wet fabric. It didn't cause my goggles to fog up and it's very warm. It blocks the wind but never felt hard to breathe in. My only complaint, and this is the only reason for 4 stars and not 5, is there's no good way to pull the face shield down when you want to uncover your mouth. Other balaclavas have an extra seem that makes it easy to pull the face panel down under your chin, but this one doesn't and it would be nice if it did.

Okay so I actually bought this because I actually have a severe sun allergy (photosensitivity). I really wanted to show especially on the inside how well sewn this is. It’s so difficult these days to find products that use anything beyond that first basic cheap stitch on the sewing machine that really isn’t meant to hold anything for an extended period of time. Yet I see everything from sheets, pillowcases, blankets, curtains, masks, clothing, etc, using that cheap stitch. It has no relation to the price of the item either..I’ve seen sheet sets selling for hundreds of dollars, yet stitched in such a way that they won’t last the year. I was surprised to get this and see the quantity of the stitching and of how soft the inside is. It is very comfortable. I imagine if you are considering it for outdoor winter sport wear I would definitely say go for it. I wore this in May and I wasn’t uncomfortable until I had to put another cloth mask under it (sun allergy; and my car is prescription tinted! 😩) But that’s just my issue. For anybody else this is going to be really awesome and even me it helped a lot. Also the picture where you see my hand holding under it; the camera light is making it appear lighter, it is a true black as in the other photos. 🙂
