These weights look fantastic. Much better than the water bag system that came with our offset umbrella Because the weight is split up into four compartments, it is so much easier to move the umbrella when needed. Do not expect to fill these with water if you live in an area that has freezing temps. This took about 2.75 50LB bags of sand total. Use a funnel. Make sure your stand has a lip extending from the cross bars as these weights need something to set on top of. I only wish there was a connector between the weights to hold them together. I am afraid the wind pushing on the umbrella will cause them to shift. We shall see.

Fits perfect on our cantilever umbrella vase. Picked location for umbrella, pulled hose to location, and then filled each of the four units. Unfilled pieces are very light, but very heavy when filled. We used only water (no sand or gravel) and it works fine./ I would buy this again.

The plastic is sturdy enough and doesn't leak when filled with water. But I don't know how it will fare when winter comes followed by hot summers here on the east coast. We shall see how it does against cracking.

But my gosh if you fill with sand, prepare to be there for a couple hours to fill just 1 of the 4 sections...if there are better techniques please let me know. I got my sand from home depot and unfortinaly it was damp. So I let it dry in my driveway before pouring it into a small funnel. But still the funnel clogs and you have to sit there feeding so little sand into the damn tiny funnel hole and bang the funnel around to sift the sand through. I only filled 1 with sand due to how long it took and I said no way am I gonna do this for the other 3 so I used water instead. And shockingly it wasn't even a lot lighter than the one filled with sand. I'd have to weigh it officially but my 10 ft umbrella from Bluu held up against 10-15 mph winds all day on a day I forgot to close it. So it works.

Best value base though.

We bought these to support a large cantilevered deck umbrella. We filled 3 of them with water (didn't need the 4th due to space) and they have been perfect. THey are easy to move around for my older mother when she wants to move the umbrella and have supported it well despite some higher winds.

Great looking and operating product. It must be nailed or secured down to deck or ground even if you use the additional water/sand weight system. That system comes with four plastic containers that you fill with water and or sand which are supposed to be enough weight to hold the umbrella down. I put it up on our deck, could not nail into deck as I didn't want to create a bunch of holes, so purchased the weights and installed them. All the weights do is sit on a 1.5" rim around each of the four legs of the umbrella bottom. There's nothing to connect them to the legs so even the slightest shift of the umbrella from a small wind move it around such that the weights come off the 1.5" rim and move away from the legs leaving the umbrella without weight. I was sitting next to it, with weights installed, umbrella fully open and a small breeze picked up and slowly pushed the umbrella over into a propane heater and knocked that into a large terra-cotta vase and knocked that off a table all in about 2 seconds and I couldn't reach the umbrella in time to stop it from falling over. After that, I kept it closed, tried it again and it almost fell over again. I felt I couldn't trust it even with me present, so it ended up not being useful and I gave it away to a friend who should be able to nail it down to ground (very large spikes) or their deck using screws. Even so, I would never leave this umbrella open, alone, since it's so large it acts like a sail and I don't know how much pressure it could stand before the stand or pole might give way. In no wind it is an amazingly large and beautiful umbrella and very easy to operate. One note: it cannot be rotated, only opened, closed and tilted.
