These stockings are huge and I really feel like I got my money's worth. So far, I have not had any problems with pilling, and though I have not washed them, I think they would hold up just fine based on the quality of the fabric. I would recommend washing on a gentle cycle (with like colors) and then laying flat to dry. You can fit a decent amount inside and I found that they were able to stretch some without distorting the shape when everything was removed. I would have liked to have a more heavy-duty hanger attached, but have not had any issues so far with the hanger being defective. No tears, stretching, or rips. If that did happen, I would just sew on a replacement with a thicker ribbon/cord.
