In late April 2023 I purchased a Renewed Shark HZ251 Vacuum in excellent condition on Amazon. The price was $124.95. I vacuum daily so it's essential I have a good reliable vacuum. This is also why I purchased a Asurion Floorcare Extended Protection Plan. A few weeks ago the vacuum began making loud noises and had a loss of suction. I emptied the out take receptacle after each use. I also did not resuse filters by washing and reusing the old filter but purchased filters on Amazon. Despite my taking care of my vacuum things happen and a pin came out. When the pin came out the vacuum would no longer remain upright. Initially I contacted Asurion but was told that I need to contact the seller or manufacturer since the vacuum is still under warranty. The seller is Amazon since it was a "renewed" item. Shark told me to replace the pin would take at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours of labor or more than the value of the vacuum. I contacted Amazon and was told their warranty is 90 days so Asurion should cover the vacuum. I asked the Amazon rep to send me an email stating this in writing because I was going to call Asurion and pass along this information. As soon as I told them what Amazon said they agreed to refund me the purchase price of the vacuum although the process did take over an hour on the phone.

That said if you purchase a renewed product/device that you use a lot I highly recommend purchasing an Asurion extended protection plan. They are reasonably priced and will give you peace of mind.

I bought two cordless vacuums & bought the warranty from Asurion. When I had problems with the vacuums Asurion acted promptly to reimburse me for the vacuums! I would definitely recommend buying these warranties!

I bought my vacuum about 2 years ago and it works fine until one day the neck of the handle just snapped while i was vacuuming. It still works but it’s becoming hard to maneuver it due to the broken neck. I tried taping it with my masking tape that i have at hand and it was fine for a bit until it comes off. So I have retaped it a few times in hopes that it would be ok as I would hate to have to waste a product that’s still technically functional. But it eventually became too cumbersome. Then I remembered I may have purchased the asurion insurance and boy was I glad I did! The process of getting my refund was so easy and it’s contactless. I was prepared to submit a video and picture of my broken neck vacuum but they didn’t even ask for it and credited my account for the full amount of the original purchase price right away! I will definitely be a repeat customer for my future purchase as it gives me the peace of mind when purchasing a costly item and not having to be stuck with a lemon if it turns out that way.

They didn’t give any real resolution to my broken vacuum, just send a gift card for a new one and that was it . I guess i can’t be mad at that.
