Got this as an amazon Warehouse deal. The box was missing the mounting screws. More importantly the power supply ground wire is cut off. I was able to fix it fairly quickly but it did slow down the installation.The unit seems to work okay so far.Biggest issue is that you have to use one zone for the master valve so I loose one sprinkler zone.

My irrigation company was going to charge me $450 to install this. So I purchased it and installed it myself. It was easy peasy wire for wire. Love the WiFi capability. I can control all functions with my iPhone. I purchased the rain sensor and with so much rain in Florida this time of the year, it has all allowed the sprinklers to water my yard only twice in the last three weeks. This is saving me $$$ off my water bill.

If needed I can start, stop or suspend a zone or a entire program for weeks or months. Has a easy to use program accessible from the controller or a smartphone. I used my smart phone from my cottage to suspend the program after a rain event and my rain sensor dried out early. A great controller and excellent programming!

so i like this guy a lot, this is my second smart timer from Hydrawise, my last one broke after 2.5 years of being plugged in. I do not like this new style, the last one i had was rectangle and felt a bit more sturdy. However, this one is touch screen and was a bit easier to configure but the plastic housing was less to my liking. It is secured to the wall with 2 screws and I think I am going to add another as it seems a bit loose. Compared to the old rectangle style had 4 screws on each corner so you knew it was not going anywhere. Still a good product and the app works great, it actually notified my (via email) when it lost power so I knew it was having issues. I also use the flow sensor and the graphs to looks at water usage from time to time. Overall a good product.

I was forced to return this without ever attempting to install it. Why? Because I have a 6 zone irrigation system with a master valve. This unit has no dedicated terminals for your master valve - so you have to use one of the 6 zones to wire it and then configure that zone in the software as your master valve. This effectively makes this a 5 zone model. So if you have 6 zones and a master valve like me (most U.S. irrigation systems use a master valve), you can't use the 6 zone model, you have to get this 12 zone one. Also, you can only monitor 1 weather station for free. You have to pay an annual subscription to monitor more. Competitors give you this free. Lastly, it doesn't work with home automation devices like Amazon Echo. Others do. So if you have 5 zones or less, you're good. Any more that that, you have to upgrade to the Hunter HC-1200i model (making you pay for a lot of unused zones) or go with another brand. The lack of a dedicated master zone valve terminal is a huge blunder.
