The metal is a little heavier than I was hoping, but that does make it sturdier. It came with the fork sticking out a bunch, and I bent it in to be closer like the spoon. Even though it is a little more expensive than some of the other sets on Amazon I chose the Hikenture set because it separates and has full size fork and spoon. I haven't actually used the utensils to eat with yet, but I have inspected it and played with it. it appears to be well made. I bought the blue which turned out to be a bright royal blue. A good choice for me. The actual color is nicer than in the pictures on Amazon. The patterned surface improves gripping. A nice addition is the the black woven material black case which is sized to comfortably hold the folded utensils and has a belt loop. I plan to keep it in the glove compartment and use it on the road instead of the plastic stuff some restaurants offer or when I buy food for a meal from a grocery store.

I bought it mostly for the good full size fork and tablespoon. They unfold to be full length utensils (~7.25"). The knife is oddly shaped, but it should work well enough. It is not as sharp as my Swiss Army knife, but i think that is an asset for eating. Unfolding the utensils is easy, as is parting and reassembling it. Hikenture sent a little instruction brochure and an offer of assistance if any problems arise, but the utensils are so well designed, I didn't need the brochure. Just unfold the fork and spoon, slide them apart and you are holding separate fork and spoon.

Hikenture's email, the case, the quality of the set are all things which make this a good purchase.

Some reviewers have mentioned this seems flimsy, but it's plenty strong for a utensil set. The build quality isn't the same as the heirloom quality of a Case hobo knife or even a Kabar or Kissing Crane, but it far less expensive and it has something that none of those knives have: full size utensils. The fork and spoon are proper size, unlike the others which are tiny. And it's way cheaper than those options and unlike the Kabar and Kissing Crane it locks closed. The panels on those two can be separated when closed, which could potentially lead to them coming apart in a bag. I use mine for lunches at work or on the run or when a fast food employee forgets to throw a fork in the bag. Considering the cost, the weight, and the relatively small size, it's worth having a couple around.

I bought this item in red, paying the full $10.80 price shown for the item. In no way would I ever consider paying $19.99 for it. Most aspects of the design are actually good. The fork and spoon are a good size and well made and finished. The knife, while not the sharpest knife in the drawer, is adequately sharp. You wouldn't want to cut a thick medium-rare steak with it, but it works for most things you would likely dip from a campsite cooking pot. The bottle opener is cut out of the top of the knife. I have another set from a different seller where the bottle opener is integrated into the fork handle, a better design. The company was very easy to deal with and they would get 5 stars easily. The only reason for a generous 3 stars for the product is the design of the two little rivet head tacks that hold the two halves together when folded. Both were loose, and one fell off just by testing how it works when I first opened the package. I found the dropped tack with my bare foot on the tile floor. If it would fall out on a deep carpet in your office, or on the ground at your campsite, you would never find it. If it fell off into your food, you might break a tooth biting down on it, or you might ingest it. At least the cloth pouch would hold the two folded pieces together if you lost the locking tabs. The Velcro on the pouch is too small, and not held onto the cloth very securely. I repurposed the pouch to hold a better made set of similar design that I bought somewhere else. Hikenture responded to my concerns, saying they would make the quality issue know to the manufacturer; and they quickly refunded my full $10.80. If they could fix that loose tab problem, I might consider trying the product again some time in the future.
