I just received my Haus & Garten pruning shears today and I was excited to try them out so quick as a whip I went to prune my Fringe tree that has four bases to it.As you can see in the photo, it cut cleanly through the 5/8" base with very little effort. I applied pressure until it stopped (just shy of halfway) then with a quick twist of my wrist it finished the cut making short work of the job!I am what I consider an average size 62 year old American male, 6'1" and while I was concerned that these might be too small for my hand they're not, in fact I think this particular pair could genuinely be considered unisex.I highly recommend these shears, and I consider myself to be relatively stingy when it comes to rating something 5 stars!

I purchased a pair of these ClassicPro bypass pruners last October as a Christmas gift for my husband. They were not used until spring. We had an issue with the thumb lock not functioning quite properly. I contacted the Haus&Garten customer support team via email on 29 APR about the problem.

The customer service provided by Haus&Garten blew us away. Not only were we offered a new pair of pruners immediately, they did so in an email response in less than three hours (!) from when I sent my inquiry. Our replacement pruners have been shipped in just over 24 hours since initial contact.

UPDATE 04 MAY: New pruners have arrived. My husband has used them, and he says they work beautifully. These tools are very well made; serious gardening equipment. You cannot go wrong with Haus&Garten tools, but if you ever do have an issue, the company will do what it takes to make things right. I'll be a customer for life. Their representative also recommended their PrecisionPro bypass pruner, which she said is a better fit for smaller hands (mine). We have a pair of those now as well, and I am extremely happy with them. Now I have to go cut a bunch of stuff! :)

These gardening pruning shears are without question the best I have ever purchased and are almost effortless to cut small tree limbs and young saplings. Makes trimming stubs a breeze. The cuts are so smooth.
