Murder in Plain Sight Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

Did a sweet-faced Amish teenager brutally murder a young woman? To save her career, big-city lawyer Jessica Langdon is determined to defend him against the community's bitter and even violent outrage. Yet without an understanding of Amish culture, Jessica must rely on arrogant businessman Trey Morgan, who has ties to the Amish community and believes in the boy's guilt.

Jessica has threats coming from all sides: a local fanatic, stirred up by the biased publicity of the case; the dead girl's boyfriend; even from the person she's learned to trust the most, Trey Morgan. But just when Jessica fears she's placed her trust in the wrong man, Trey saves her life. And now they must both reach into a dangerous past to protect everyone's future, including their own.

This is one book that I was surprised at the killer. It's a book that makes me want to read all of her books.

I don't think I've read any of her books that I haven't liked. If you enjoy reading about the amish and enjoy mysteries, you should like the book.

"Murder in PLAIN SIGHT" is the first in the Amish Suspense Series that sets the stage for a series of books packed with mystery, intrigue, conspiracy, suspense along with a substantial measure of clean homespun romance.
Jessica Langdon, the daughter of the famous Supreme Court Justice Judge Langdon, has been struggling in the law firm that her Father has set her up in and she is not so sure that her days are not numbered. She has been sent to "cut a deal" and plea bargain the case of the brutal murder of Cherry Wilson ( Englishcer).Thomas Esch a local Amish teenager has been charged and the evidence is overwhelming. Everyone believes that Thomas is guilty accept for his family and Geneva Morgan - the Matriach of the Morgan Family - and she is writing the check. Everything sounds simple enough until she discovers that it is far from simple. Jessica has to factor in the English world from the Amish world and nothing is adding up.

Trey Morgan is overprotective of his Mother and is family and has been an obstacle for Jessica since she came to town. Trey wants her to do her job quickly without fuss and press and get out of town. Problem is - someone has slashed her tires along with a number of weird criminal activity - now Trey is becoming protective of her with all of the danger around.

Something is wrong - very wrong and Jessica is not going to stop until she figures it all out!

Pull up a comfortable chair and prop your feet up for a great mystery.

Marta Perry writes with unerring accuracy about both Englischers and their Amish neighbors. Her stories contain a great mix of charming characters, plot twists and satisfying outcomes. A good read, even the second time around!

I have read a lot of Marta's amish books and love them. This is the one I had not read in the series. Looking
forward to more of her new books.

Murder in Plain Sight by Marta Perry while not a great mystery is good and enjoyable read. To the author's credit there is good character development and she seems to know here subject matter, namely the Amish. It is published by a division of Harlequin so there is a lot of swooning and flushing of cheeks by the protaginists. It is better than most Amish fiction so I give it a recommend. Would be great summertime beach reading.
