I've had a kreepy krawly for last three years. To be fair, it came with the pool that came with the house and it is likely older than three years. I've purchased several parts for the krawly - new foot, new rollers, pretty much the regular wearable parts. I also put new hose on the unit. Constantly sticking on drain and not moving around pool well. Spent a lot of time brushing pool towards deeper end where the Krawly would hopefully clean. Finally got tired of it and thought time for new. Researched the high end robots - all my friends have them and rave about them. Couldn't get it out of my mind that I would have to regularly remove from pool and store. That seemed like a pain to me. I read reviews and pulled the plug on this zodiac "equivalent" of the KK. Also purchased the inline zodiac filter. Needless to say, I've never seen a cleaner pool. My pool is so clean it makes me sick :). Very, very happy to have purchased a unit for $300 that is almost completely hands off (every now and then I straighten hose). The inline filter is so easy to clean compared to the Pentair filter. By the way - the pentair filter turns from clear to completely white inside of a couple weeks. I have an old pool. My only suction is through the filter basket so by plugging this in, it kind of renders your skimmer useless. That said, I also found another gadget for 10 bucks that allows you to attach a net to your ladder. I've moved my pool jets so all surface debris is aimed to the net. Very cheap, very easy, and my pool is always clean. Cleanest in the neighborhood. Just yesterday one of my robot pool cleaner owner buddies stopped by and in his exact words, "how do you keep your pool so clean?!" Anyhow - highly recommend. Hope you have same results! By the way - the pool net attachment is called a Leaf Bone. It catches everything.

I had to copy Scott's review headline. I totally agree with him. It has been a game changer for me. When we built our pool they wanted $6500 extra for a dedicated Polaris pool cleaner.(runs on a separate pump). I declined at the time and had regrets. Since this was a larger pool than what they normally build, they did not install enough pool jets. I have what my dad refers to as dead spots. Algae forms on the wall of the pool due to lack of fresh chlorinated water. I was so frustrated. I had to brush the sides of the pool every 2 days to keep the algae growth at bay. I purchased this unit and my life has changed. It keeps the pool floor and walls unbelievably clean and saves me so much time. I run my pump 24/7 so using this unit does not cost me any extra money. If your thinking of purchasing one consider the fact that two weeks later I purchased another unit to have as a back up. Sure, I had to spend a few days tweaking the length of the hose to make sure that it would not get stuck. But now it performs flawless. Get one! You won't regret it.

I’m extremely happy with my Zodiac G3 pool vacuum. You really need to go online and download the manual. The quick setup guide for myself is vague. I had one minor problem with the vacuum head getting stuck in on of my pools bottom step corner. I adjusted 1 of the pool filter returns. This solved the problem. The online manual has a decent troubleshooting guide. Make sure you adjust how much suction is being applied so the pressure valve is at 3 and enough hose. All returns are pointed downward. Make sure the Zodiac G3 is sitting flat in pool. The troubleshooting guide will tell you how to fix the G3 by moving the weight that goes on the hose. I placed the weight where it shows on the hose in the quick set up guide and the G3 sits flat on my pool’s bottom. I couldn’t get enough suction to get the gauge to go to 3,from a dedicated vacuum port on the side of my pool. I had to use my skimmer inlet and 2 more lengths of hose. Make sure you use at least 1 of the 45 degree elbows if using your skimmer inlet and the mesh hose protector. After use take hose apart. Allow it to dry and store in box it came in. So it doesn’t develop a circular memory. I can’t believe how quiet the Zodiac G3 is and it does a suburb job at climbing the walls of my pool. It cleaned my pool completely in 8 hours. I do have an enclosed screen house so I don’t get any leaves or other debris in my pool. Just a lot of pollen. This is the only pool vacuum of this type that has actually climbed the walls of my pool all the way to the waters edge. There are easily available parts that eventually wear out. The hose that comes with the Zodiac G3 is High Quality and will last for years. My original hose is the same as the one that came with the Zodiac G3. It’s 15 years old and still in excellent condition. If anything changes,I will change my review.

Have owned a pool for over 20 years but never had an auto vacuum. Didnt want an entry level vac, so I went with the mid-priced, but well established Barracuda model. Used for a week now and my pool has never been cleaner. Works very well and never gets caught up on stuff either. Impressed so far... a few observations however
> worked better after I added a extra weight near the head (only comes with one weight/needs two)
> play with the hose length to see what works best... adding or removing a hose unit will chance the characteristics of the pattern it will follow. What works best? try different lengths...

I am so happy with this purchase. I have a new pool, a newborn and a 4 yr old so I don’t have time to spend vacuuming the pool. This takes about 5 min to set up once you are used to it. I just let it go for about 3-4 hours and I have a clean pool! Really glad I bought this, don’t know why anyone would vacuum a pool manually when a product like this is available!
