I purchased this six months ago and waited to review it until I knew that it was durable. I almost did not purchase this from others stating that either it did not cut or that the plastic wheel melted. I have not found either assertion to be true. I eat pizza 3-4 times per week. I purchased this pizza cutter along with the T-fal air bake nonstick pizza pan which I also recommend. I routinely heat the pizza to 420 degrees and slice it fresh out of the over and have never experience the wheel melting or not being sharp enough to cut the crust on the first cut. Unlike some metal pizza wheels I have owned in the past, this plastic one really cuts!!! I also let my younger nieces and nephews use it because it would be impossible to puncture the skin while working great on pizza. This product cleans up easily both in the dishwasher as well as hand washing with a soapy paper towel. Sauce and cheese do not stick to this plastic wheel like they do the metal ones. So that is another reason to love it. I find the handle to be well constructed like most Oxo products and easy to grip and not slip. After 6 months of hard use this product still looks like new and I would definitely buy this product again with out a second thought. Do not be deterred by other's gripes. This is a great product especially if you do not want to damage your pans and you want your pizza to be cut easily on the first try. Easily one of my favorite and most used kitchen tools.

You Could Kill A Man With This

Seriously, this is the most robust pizza cutter I've ever used. It's sturdy AF. You could totally kill a man with this thing and then use it to cut up the delicious post-murder pizza you'll inevitably eat.
Joking aside, this thing is a beast. It weighs about as much as 10 other pizza cutters combined. This is a good thing though, it facilitates easier cutting by reducing the amount of effort needed to cut through the crust. The blade itself is sharp enough to cut through anything, but because it is plexiglas (I think?) the cutting edge won't cut you. That means you can clean it easily in the sink, or leave it in a drawer without worrying about hurting yourself. It also seems to be very well built, so my guess is that it is the last pizza cutter you'll ever need to buy.
The best part about this thing, though, is the fact that you don't leave cuts in your pans. It's safe to use on any surface you're likely to cut a pizza on, and won't damage it by cutting into the surface. Finally, as an unsolicited tip, pizza cutters in general are perfect for cutting quesadilla slices. Something to consider.

Good cutter for those nonstick pans

The local bed and bath store (you know which one) sells nonstick pizza pans that you can't use a metal cutter on. They also sell a wide variety of OXO products - all except this item it seems. Strange. So after asking for them to get it and waiting several weeks, I finally gave up and bought this one off Amazon. Works just as it should, with no damage to the pizza pan. I wish it were just a little easier to turn the wheel, it isn't very free-spinning like a metal one. No real problems though, it does turn when cutting. Kind of expensive for just a plastic pizza cutter but it appears that it will last. I have used it for quite a while and have noticed no damage to the wheel from the dishwasher and it's still sharp enough to cut the pizza.

I have used a plastic pizza cutter for years and I still can't for the life of me see how people can still use a metal one. Metal dulls and ruins your pans. I first started using one when I nannied for kids. It is a million times safer if you have kids in the kitchen. You cannot cut yourself with them, or at least when I have tested it. However, it has no problem cutting through any food you would cut with a traditional cutter. I used the older version for 6ish years before it broke. This one is bigger and sturdier than their original design. I know it will last me easily 10 years.

I ordered this specific pizza cutter and it arrived yesterday. Last night we made pizzas. The pizzas were baked at 450F on a preheated pizza stone. Once baked, they were removed to a stainless table and a wooden cutting board to cut with the pizza cutter. Both surfaces worked well when using the pizza cutter. Only one pass across the pizza to cut it was necessary. It cuts clean and is very sharp. Everyone likes the cutter so much that I ordered another one today. We entertain often and make several pizzas a week. The extra cutter will be put to good use as well.
