    This is an updated review......The box clearly states 15 year guarantee. Well a year and a half later scale shut down, and no guarantee. emailed the company they responded no registration, no receipt, no guarantee. Now I was impressed with this scale, I gave it a high review, and when after 10 years or more, it started to act up (see the original box.) I bought another one. Well if you are interested it is now double in price, in a year and a half. Greed is good. I have no idea why is shut down, but I am now in the process of looking for a new scale I use it a lot, but it is never abused..I would not recommend Salter due to the false advertising on the box and their inferior response. I had to go back to my original purchase (the sale is intermittent). Hope Amazon reads these comments. Buy the way I could of asked Amazon to replace the scale, and I am sure they would of, but it is not fair to Amazon to take a hit on a bad policy company. Amazon has always stepped up to the plate and will keep doing what they do best.

    This is my second third time buying this scale. Twice for me and once as a gift. The scale shuts off automatically unlike some other brands. Plate form big enough for large blows. Only disadvantage- hard to clean around the buttons.
