Great rack for hanging multiple bikes in a small amount of space!

Great rack for hanging multiple bikes in a small amount of space!
After reading multiple reviews and looking at this company's website, I decided to go with this product because it offered the most compact storage option for multiple bikes. The rack can hold up to 300 pounds per the website. Some reviews said that the rack could not hold 4 bikes. We were able to easily hang 4 bikes by alternating handlebars to the right or left. We hung all bikes by the front tire to have better control when hanging them. I made sure to install the bolts into a wall stud. I was able to install the rack by myself in about 20 minutes at a height of just below 8 feet. My husband helped me hang our 2 rather heavy adult mountain bikes. We also hung up a child's mountain bike and a lightweight adult racing bike. You will need a drill with a 3/16 bit to drill pilot holes and a ratchet to put the included bolts into studs. The rack seems to be very sturdy and helped to clear floor space in our garage. The included directions are not very useful. However, I still highly recommend the rack.

Sturdy and simple. Gets the job done and saves a lot of space. Not as hard to get bikes off as others have posted but I only have 3 bikes on there. 4 would be a tight squeeze.

The product arrived very quickly. All the hardware was included in it, with simple instructions. I am by no means a handy man, but I used my Wall stud finder, found the best one and pre drilled a hole. Then I used my wratchet screw it all the way in. The Rack looks great on the wall, was simple to install (under 10 mins) It can hold a lot of weight. I went ahead and put 4 bikes on the rack, I did have to alternate the directions, but they fit easily. Overall its a massive space saver and I couldn't be happier.

Good design, and simple to install. But, overpriced at $37, especially with $13 shipping being extra: three lightweight pieces of steel that couldn't have cost more than $2-3.
Pro: It CAN hold 4 bikes, despite some reviews saying it can't. I put four bikes: two heavier cro-moly steel bikes (a Mt. Goat Mt. bike, and a classic 1973 Schwinn Paramount), and an aluminum Richey Mt. bike with front shock, and an aluminum Klein Quantum road bike on the rack. You just have to reverse the handlebars by alternately hanging the bikes by front and rear wheels. There are 19 holes for the hanging-hooks: put the first hook in the outermost hole, and the other three hooks spaced inward to accommodate your particular bikes.

Well built and easy to install. Other reviews are correct in that one could easily buy the individual pieces from a hardware store but you can do that for a lot of things. This is a well put together package that works for its intended purpose perfectly. I have four full fize bikes on the rack and it handles the load perfectly.

Bought this awhile ago and finally got around to installing it. While everything necessary was in the box in terms of the washers, nuts, bolts, and the bar, I found it disappointing that there were no instructions (had they been there, this would have been a 5-star review).

I would say I'm slightly above average when it comes to this sort of project and I was able to figure it out fairly quickly, but others may not. Once I figured it out, it took maybe 30-45 minutes to install. You'll need a drill and a pair of wrenches or (preferably) a wrench and a ratchet. Probably a stud finder as well, since you'll want this to be anchored so as not to rip your wall off.

Once installed it's pretty much as advertised. Nothing fancy but it does the job. My roommate has an old mountain bike and I have a Gary Fisher hybrid. Between the two of us we take up most of the space on the rack. We might be able to squeeze in a 3rd bike if we had to, but I seriously doubt we'd be able to use all 4 hooks.

Definitely happy with the purchase. It's gotten our bikes out of the way and enabled me to clean and organize my garage better.

The item actually arrived 15Jun15 thats seven days early, yea...... All parts were present in new unused condition.

Had to look thru the instructions carefully to find the how to for this product as the instructions were for full other items sold by manufacture. However it was pretty straight foward from the picture online. Only fact you need from the instructions is what size drill bit for pilot hole.

Have read reviews from others about lag bolt lenght being to short, wasnt the case for me with 3 x 3" bolts. Including 1/8" of stea, lock spring washer, and 1/2" of drywall I was a full 2-1/2" into the stud that is only 3-1/2".

We hung two 26" cruisers, one 26"cruiser w/ rear mounted child seat, and 1x 28" cruiser, seams to be fine. Used last hole on end, then every fourth hole working back tward wall ( mount hooks before you hang bracket.)

You have to alternate directions with bikes and I found moving the peddles to pass thru the frame of the next bike helped to layer them in.
Make sure your center of the stud, even if you use a fancy stud finder ( I didnt, I placed a cup on the wall ear to the cup and tapped, listening for change in sound ) once you have the stud find its center , I chose to drive a wire nail into the wall ( moving parallel untill I missed the stud, then reversed direction to find the other edge. used a three foot level to make a line up the wall with pencil, held bracket to wall with pencil mark passing thru all three holes. used pencil to outline holes, moved the bracket , drilled pilot holes with 3/8 bit. bolt to wall, hang bikes.
