After looking into many window fans and reading tons of reviews, especially the one-star reviews, I decided to choose this one. All of the window units had some bad reviews. Some of the other models had comments recommending that people should consider this unit. There WERE a lot of 5 stars for this one.
The one thing that really concerned me were the horror stories of people dealing with Bionaire customer service. In the end I took the plunge and went with this unit.
So far, I am very pleased with this fan. It blows very well in the high setting. I have used it blowing in (for cool night air), blowing out (to blow the day's heat out of the room), and the combination. I love that you can change the fan direction at the touch of a button. Other window fans need to be physically turned around in the window to blow in or out- and that would be a pain.
It fit well into my 36" wide window, and I was able to get the side wings nice and snug. Some people complained about flimsiness, but they were just as I expected. With a little wiggling you can get them in perfectly. My window is screened and this unit was not too bulky and fit perfectly in front of the screen. Note that there are tiny gaps at the top and bottom of the wings which are unavoidable. If you have no screen, a small bit of weather stripping should take care of any gaps.
The buttons are easy to use.
Regarding noise- in my opinion it sounds like a fan with a soft blow, and is less noisy than previous fans that I have had. It does not interfere with my sleep.
Some people have complained that the temperature reading is not accurate. I haven't bothered to determine that. I watch it to see when the temperature rises or falls. On a hot day it's fun to see it fall.
I am in an older home with no air conditioning. This window fan has made a huge difference in my comfort.
Time will tell whether or not it is durable. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now- so far so good! Right now I recommend this product.

On hot, humid days, this keeps my room cooler, dryer and smelling fresher
My house doesn't have central air and most days during summer I don't need it, but because of humidity, when the temperature hits the mid-seventies or higher, it get very uncomfortable in my bedroom upstairs. I didn't want to use a window or portable AC unit because they use too much electricity, so I decided to buy this Bionaire dual fan for one of my windows after reading reviews of about a dozen top rated units and it has exceeded my expectations.How much it cools depends on how hot it is outside, but one day it was 86 degrees and humid but my room was a comfortable 83 degrees and dry. I took a photo of the temperature in my room and screenshot from the weather widget from a few days ago when it was 76 degrees and raining outside but my room was a chilly 66 degrees.The fan isn't loud even on high. I hate fans because I love silence when I sleep, but this fan produces a very "white noise" type of sound that I quickly got used to and didn't notice after an hour or so.The fan has three airflow options:In - both fans blow air in.Out - both fans blow air out.Exchange - the left fan blows in and the right fan blows out.When it's very hot outside, I put both fans on in and the rest of the time, or if I already am happy with the temperature in my room, I switch to exchange, which is nice for keeping my room smelling fresh. I was very surprised by how much this fan reduces humidity. On humid summer mornings, I wake up fresh and comfortable in my room, but the moment I step out into the hallway, I can feel the difference in the air.I didn't review the remote because I've never used it since I have too many remotes as it is.This fan is one of the best purchases I've made in years.
