Isolated due to Covid, I was facing much solo time! Thank goodness my Amazon order arrived. If you like Riley sagar books, this will be no exception. It takes a while to get all the players and pieces in motion and then FIRE! Twists and turns and it never lets up! I don’t want to say more for fear of spoiler alerts but do yourself a favor—if you are a fan of his other novels, read this too!!!

I loved this book. The characters were believable and you really got insight into what was going on with each of them. I couldn’t wait to find out what happened (hence, read it in two days) and the mystery was compelling. The ending was surprising and made total sense. I highly recommend this book. I will say that the Kindle copy had some pages in the beginning where the words were blurred out, but only a few pages and you could tell what the word was in most instances. Highly recommend!

Who knew I would be sobbing at the end of a Riley Sager book?! Not me but here I am.

Maybe not my favorite of his books, it still kept my attention and threw in some zingers at the end. It is a slow moving tale of redemption, sorrow, regret, family, friends. in the 1990s, Ethan and Billy are sleeping in a tent in Ethan's backyard. Ethan wakes up in the morning to a slash in the tent and Billy being gone. Some 30 years later, Ethan is back at Hemlock Terrace living in his old home when Billy's remains are found. Has Billy come back to help Ethan remember what happened that night or are other forces at play? You see, Billy was fascinated by ghosts and the afterlife. There is a lot of suspicion, a creepy institute and you will be guessing and guessing just what did happen that fateful night.

I love this man and his mind. I have never met a Riley Sager book that I didn't like.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book was okay. It was extremely repetitive &suspense without much reward.

* The premise of the book is trying to figure out what happened with Billy. Ethan would constantly think of scenarios of what happened to Billy &would be 100% sure without giving it much logical thought. Half the time I thought the options were ridiculous, not thought out, or very over dramatic.

* The narration was fantastic! The narrator gave the characters different voices to help differentiate them. He expressed all the emotions throughout the story well.

* I wasn’t overly impressed with the ending &what happened. I had a feeling early on which is surprising since I never guess things right in thrillers. I must be getting better lol. I think there was a lot of fluff &different storylines to try to distract you from the true outcome. Not his best work in my opinion. I really enjoyed The Only One Left &The Last Time I Lied a lot more.

In this, his latest book, Ethan Marsh has returned to the neighborhood where he grew up, the neighborhood where his best friend, Billy Barringer disappeared from the backyard tent where the two ten year olds were camping. It is now thirty years later, Billy’s body has been found, and Ethan is certain that Billy’s ghost is trying to help him solve the case.
This book has that creepy factor that Sager books are famous for, and it provides the goosebumps. I stayed up several nights reading until late. It had a great ending I didn’t see coming. Five stars.

Well Riley Sager has done it again! You will fall in love, with the setting, the characters, the mystery, the twists.! He pulls you into the story. You will laugh a little, cry a little and gasp A LOT! You will think you have it figured out just to turn the page and find out you're wrong, over and over again. The twists are shocking but they make sense. I've been a fan since Final Girls and I will continue to read each and every book as soon as they come out! Each on deserves more than 5 stars.
