Trust the process
After you freeze the inner cup for 8 hours and you add in your liquid, you have to trust the process and be patient as you’re scraping. I used sweetened coconut milk I chilled in the fridge. I have a lot of food allergies and wanted to be able to make my own ice cream that I can control the ingredients. It really worked! It’s not a hard ice cream texture, definitely more like a “shake” just as they advertise. I’m so excited for the next time I use it. I gave it 4 stars because it was more work to scrape and took a little longer than I thought it would and wasn’t as quick to refreeze and add more like the instructions say you can.

I am getting a kick out of this and like it very much. I bought one for myself and 2 for mother's day gifts. it takes a bit of time and patience to use this but you're letting the chilled insert cup freeze the liquid, stirring the ice that forms on the inside of the cup into the liquid. this is kind of fun and relaxing, i thought. I used pre-made chocolate milk (Fairlife) and then tried orange-mango-banana juice in a carton and also coffee ( milk and a bit of Quik and sugar). all turned out yummy. its exactly 1 cup capacity and the flanged collar keeps things from slopping over.
tips they also tell you in the enclosed booklet : freeze the inside cup standing upright. there is a gel inside that gets super cold and if you lay it on its side it won't surround your drink evenly. ...as the liquid freezes, you are to scrape and stir in every minute. thinner liquids will chill a bit faster. the enclosed spoon does the trick but the ice can be very smooth inside and can feel like its just the inside of the cup. be sure to press and break the ice. its very soft, like a Wendy's frosty is. you can keep it chunky or stir to make finer. takes a few minutes. everything nicely made, nicely weighted and did iced coffee taste good out on the back steps when it was hot out ! unique gift.
