Wonderful herbal scent!

For many years I had been trying to find a replacement for Clairol Herbal Essence shampoo. I used this shampoo during the 70’s and I just loved the way it smelled. Eventually it was no longer available. Years later I found Mirta Pirales “Herbal Essence” available at Publix for a while, and while it was a bit pricey, the smell was just what I had been searching for. Unfortunately Publix stopped selling it, and although it IS available online from other vendors, I didn’t have any confidence in their websites. But THEN, I found this product on Amazon. The name of this product is “Vanart Classic Freshness Herbal Essence” and It was described and compared by reviewers to the scent of the Original Clairol herbal essence shampoo. I gave it a try and the scent was exactly what I had been looking for. It was perfect! I felt confident buying it because I was buying through Amazon. The bottle is large, 750 ml (25 Fl. oz.) so the price per oz. is very reasonable. I now have a new favorite!

While I love the smell of it and pretty good value for the money. In my personal experience it was not suited for my hair type. I do have fine dry frizzy hair. After used I felt that it works great as a clarifying shampoo it didn’t help my dry hair. It felt slightly drier. Perhaps it will work great on oily type of hair and scalp.

Did NOT like the smell, not even close to the scent of the herbal shampoo that I loved back in the 70"s. I am going to purchase more of the Mirta De Perales Herbal, it has a great scent like the original pretty close but not exact and it doesn't feel like it is stripping my hair, better shampoo.

I've been searching for the old 70's original Herbal Essence shampoo, and this was one that was listed as a match. It is okay, but has a weak herbal smell and is very "soapy" smelling. I also ordered Caprice shampoo from the same vendor. It comes much closer to that scent, and it feels good in my hair. I'll re-order the Caprice, but will let my sons have the Vanart shampoo.
