I’ve struggled in the past to find tasty lactose free gelato/ice cream/frozen treats that were: 1)affordable 2) actually good tasting 3)containing quality ingredients/organic 4)avoided HFCS. I’ve recently started to make my own lactose-free yogurt by making high volume batches in the instant pot, and with all that yogurt now I can finally make numerous flavor options with this ice cream machine. I also made fruit based frozen treats by just blending the fruit and popping it in the ice cream machine and… voilà. Healthier, faster, tastier, and much cheaper option that whatever the store has to offer. 10/10 would recommend.

This is the third ice cream maker I ever bought. The first one I bought was one with a freezer bowl. I wanted to make ice cream at home so badly that I didn’t think of the pros and cons with a freezer bowl. When I heard of compressor ice cream makers that did not need any pre-freezing, I got one that was rather small and still difficult to clean as I had to clean the inside that was attached to the machine and while it said it would finish the final product in mere minutes, it didn’t really. It was not the compressor ice cream maker I really intended to buy because I found one that cost more and even had a special feature that showed when to add mix-ins. The reason I decided not to get that one is because it had a bottom-mounted motor and I read about why it’s better with a top-mounted motor. I finally found this product with an easy removable bucket where the ice cream is mixed and it’s good it has a timer and also a small lid to open for adding mix-ins during the churning. Although there is no signal for when to do that, I learned it’s good to add that in five minutes before the timer goes off. I finally have an ice cream maker I’m happy with and I’m especially happy to say that the description satisfaction guaranteed is true!

I do not write many reviews, as I'm usually satisfied with almost all products I purchase. I read the reviews for this before purchasing but thought "how bad could it actually be?" Very Bad. It looks nice, and is easy to clean, and that is the end of the good news. Tried to make ice cream 10 times unsuccessfully. I noticed the last three times the unit was getting noticeably hotter on the side, and I would expect some heat due to the churning and refrigeration, but this felt unsafe and had a hint of plastic melting smell. It would not surprise me if these machines start a fire in a kitchen. I just threw it out.

Before I purchased I read all the reviews, good and bad. So when the machine arrived, I made sure it was in the right position and waited 36 hrs to ensure compressor gas was settled. The mfr box indicated that the machine remain upright, however it was repackaged into a Amazion Prime box with No instructions to keep upright, it arrived on its side. Followed 1 hour instructions for 1st batch (though some reviewers said to add more time). Result was very soft, soft serve. Put in freezer for few hours and was fine. The second 1 hour batch was more frozen (I believe the first time the machine may take a bit longer) but still soft. Gradually added 10 mins to each batch and now on 6th batch and run for 1h40m-1h45min. Results are edible immediately and like a soft, hard ice cream. Using almond milk, peanut butter, banana, cocoa and Swerve. Result may vary with cream/dairy products? This is an excellent home ice cream maker.

I ordered this item for my girlfriend and here are her thoughts:

Unfortunately, this machine didn’t work. I chilled my ice cream base overnight, followed the directions for the machine (which are fairly simple - set it to the ice cream mode and turn on), and churned for almost 2 hours. At the end, the ice cream base was warm and the machine was hot to the touch. It never formed a single ice crystal.

I contacted the seller and they promptly sent me a replacement machine.

The second machine also didn’t produce ice cream. I contacted the seller again and gave them a detailed rundown of my exact steps.

They informed me I was doing it wrong. I was placing the bowl insert and paddle in the machine and then pouring in the ice cream base. They said this will not produce ice cream. I needed to pour the ice cream base into the bowl first AND THEN place the bowl in the machine.

So I went off to try my third batch of ice cream with the revised steps. Two hours later I still had a warm bowl of liquid ice cream base.

The seller was willing to continue troubleshooting with me, and they requested a video of the process, but after two afternoons spent on three failed attempts I was ready to give up.

FYI - I’m a professionally trained pastry chef and I’ve owned ice cream makers, and made homemade ice cream for over 20 years.
