I really just use it to play the kids channel and my son LOVES this one particular Bby shark song with a whole lot of different other learning songs..the characters are amazing. I’ll sit him in his chair n he will lock his eyes on it n he’s only 7 months lol
This app is awesome! There are old sitcoms that I grew up watching that are available on it and nowhere else. The content that is available on it is vast. They advertise that it's 3x more than what you can find on Netflix, and I believe it. The video and audio quality is excellent, and the ads are short and painless. Tubi is, by far, the best free ad supported streaming app on the market, and I've tried just about all of them.
I have tried most streaming services, both paid and free. I happen to see this app and decided to try it. I immediately found so many shows and movies that I wanted to watch. There are zero issues with streaming and the picture quality is excellent. A few days later I saw my husband was watching a show on it. We are both fans of older TV shows like Columbo, and cheesy 80s and '90s made for TV movies. This app has plenty of those, as well as blockbusters etc. We watch everything on this app to the point that we have decided between it and other streaming services that we love, we're getting rid of our cable!
The only thing I don't really like about this app is the search feature, and it isn't as "smart" as others when it comes to remembering what you've watched and suggesting similar shows or movies. I'm not sure if this is something I'm doing wrong, or if I'm just spoiled from other apps like Prime video that have these features.
Let's begin this review based upon what Tubi isn't:
1. It's not a competitor to Prime Video, nor Netflix or Hulu; 2. It's not for bandwidth snobs or audiophiles.
Rather, this is what I'd call a "value" streaming service. Please note, I'm wholly aware of the fact that this is a free app for your Amazon Fire TV stick. It still qualifies as "value" because it requires an investment not of money, but rather time.
Tubi works by offering the viewer programming that requires no financial investment. However, in return, you must watch commercials, an average of five per break. And by "break," I mean, "at the most annoying and inopportune times." How's that, you say? Well, remember how when the world was innocent and we used to watch TV at times dictated by network schedules and in return for being able to channel this gift from the corporate gods via the airwaves, we'd exchange a few moments of our lives to be informed about the wonders of the latest impotence medicine, or be tempted by the next blizzard-o-carbs snack? In those instances, the shows would be produced so that the story milestones would be punctuated by said breaks in a well-coordinated synergy between network and producer. Well, put those thoughts out of your head, because the commercials manifest themselves at bizarre times, sometimes in the middle of a line of dialogue or a bit of movement. To be fair, after you've experienced your Mad Men-inspired montage, the action picks up a few seconds prior to the interruption, but it's still a bit jarring. Furthermore, the audio and video quality are probably 480p at best. Not horrible, but your 4K TV is hardly going to get a workout.
One other thing: the content is uncensored, so if you're hoping for sanitized versions of films and TV, you're out of luck. Every bit of violence, skin and f-bombs are left in. The selection is also B-level at best with a few A-list gems thrown in to keep it interesting. One other benefit: they do feature a lot of obscure/old/silent films not found elsewhere.
I love Tubi; it fills in the gap when I am waiting for a new season of one of my favorite series on Prime or Netflix. I am not an avid movie watcher, so the age of the movies isn't important to me, nor the age of most of the other programs. There is quite a bit of material available, but I love a good long dramatic series with a lot of episodes ( many of the Korean dramas fill the bill, but there are lots of other good international productions here on Tubi !). I watch mostly from my Fire TV, and the quality of the video is great; the commercials are not very long and just do not bother me much, as I simply go into a temporary semi-fugue state and wait 'em out. The interface of Tubi is pretty simple and self-explanatory; the only real complaint I have is that although it was fairly easy to figure out in settings how to program my closed-captioning feature, I sometimes have to turn CC on and off again in between episodes of a program to get it to show up; not a biggie, but maybe that will be addressed in the future. Folks--it's free. That is worth a lot these days--and it is the best free program of its kind that I have tried; no buffering, easy to negotiate--and the video quality for me is terrific for what I have watched so far. I guess I'll stay with Tubi for awhile!
Decent streaming service with good selection. However, its becoming alot like cable with 4-6 adds every 10 minutes or so. Thats why I left cable and why i will rarely use tubi.
In my quest for an affordable yet entertaining streaming service, I stumbled upon Tubi TV - a platform that has left me pleasantly surprised. With its wide range of content and user-friendly interface, Tubi TV is a true gem among free streaming services.
One of Tubi TV's most appealing aspects is its extensive library, offering a delightful mix of movies and TV shows across various genres. While you may not find the latest blockbusters here, there are plenty of classic films, hidden gems, and popular TV series to keep you entertained. From thrillers and dramas to comedies and family-friendly content, there's something for everyone on Tubi TV.
Navigating the platform is a breeze, thanks to its intuitive interface and well-organized categories. Searching for specific titles or browsing through recommendations is quick and easy, making it simple to find your next binge-worthy show or movie night pick.
While Tubi TV is ad-supported, I found the commercial breaks to be less intrusive than expected. With just a few short ads dispersed throughout a movie or episode, the viewing experience remains largely uninterrupted. And when you consider that the service is entirely free, these occasional ads seem like a small price to pay for access to such a vast content library.
Another aspect worth mentioning is the availability of Tubi TV on various devices. Whether you prefer streaming on your laptop, smartphone, or smart TV, Tubi TV has you covered with its compatibility across different platforms.
In conclusion, Tubi TV has exceeded my expectations and proven itself to be a top contender in the world of free streaming services. Its impressive content library, user-friendly interface, and ad-supported model make it an excellent choice for anyone seeking an enjoyable viewing experience without breaking the bank. So, if you're on the hunt for a streaming platform that offers both value and entertainment, look no further than Tubi TV.
My wife and I have likely watched over 20 films on this streaming service so far during quarantine. The picture and sound quality isn't great, but I find that it actually adds to the feel of some of the classic/cult horror films from the 70s and 80s that the service offers.
They do have commercials, but they are few and far between. Some movies even only have one commercial once at the beginning, and the most I've seen it two commercial breaks in a film.
Pretty great for a free streaming service. Limited options in terms of quality films and recent films, but love those old school cult classics!
Likes:- Was easy to sign up for. Downloaded and signed up via Amazon Fire Stick. Good colour and sound and quality of picture. I investigated and found out what type of movies and TV productions were available and so I was not disappointed with what I have received. Many of the films tend to be B grade and/or old movies that probably would appeal to old movie film buffs and bring back memories to those of us who are getting on in years. The films are sorted into their genres which makes it easy to find what you are looking for. I found the adverts were played at reasonable intervals and only 1 or 2 at a time and therefore were not annoying ... Overall I enjoy searching through all the old movies and the B grade movies. I haven't found any modern day blockbusters yet and I am not expecting to find any but I knew that before I signed up. Not having to provide credit card details and pay a subscription are big pluses too ...
