I use this for cleaning the food thermometer after checking my food from the oven or microwave oven to make sure the temperature is up to 165 degrees for safety. It is perfect and works for this purpose. After you check the temperature, you just take it out of the individual packet, wipe off the thermometer, wait a few minutes for it to dry which is quickly since it is alcohol based and then your thermometer is sterilized and ready to go for the next task.

I have a thermopen that I use to check whether meat is done. I ordered these as something to truly sanitize the pen after I wash it in warm water with soap (I really don't want to transfer bacteria from uncooked meat to cooked meat).
