The bottles that come with the SodaStream are not dishwasher safe (they melt...). Almost everything in our house needs to be able to go through the dishwasher. Ideally I wanted glass bottles (come on SodaStream, make glass bottles!). But these were a good backup option since glass bottles don't exist.
Durable, strong plastic. Have sent through the dishwasher multiple times and it has come out non-melted! And now have two instead of just the one, so we can make different flavors at the same time.

They say that they are dishwasher safe but after I washed them, there was debris from the dishwasher under the white plastic on the bottom of the bottle. The one bottle that I used, would nit hold the carbonation in and the water went COMPLETELY flat within an hour or two. You can tell the the rubber gasket in the lid does not seem to fit properly. There are gaps between the wall of the lid and the gasket. Its disappointing because the original black bottles are amazing. I can open the bottle days later and it's still fully carbonated. I loved the design of these bottles but the functionality of them is terrible.
