Because these are simple & work so very well, this is the 4th timer I've purchased! (Yes, the original timers I bought 2 years ago are still working great; the extras are for different faucets.) No batteries are required. You simply connect the timer inbetween the faucet & the hose, turn on the water, then twist the timer for up to 2 hours of watering. It will turn itself off! (No more leaving the sprinkler going only to forget it was on.)

Delivered today and immediately put to use in the vegetable gardens. I'm famous for turning the drip hoses on and forgetting about them (think flood?). Watered 2 different setups and liked it so much - ordered 2 more. Wish I'd ordered 3 to start with. Mechanical, no batteries, super simple to use and a good safeguard for old people like me. Can't speak to the durability since only having it one day. Priced right too!

***Update, 2 more came in today and one does not have the timer decal on top. Contacted Orbit customer service and they cannot ship that out likely because these are from China. I could return it bit to avoid that hassle, I just wrote the minute markings on it. Dropping rating to 4 stars.

It's reliable and easy to use, and durable enough that they've lasted for years. The only one I had to replace was accidentally stomped on and the spinning part came off. Possible I could have fixed it with some good glue.

It’s only June in Iowa- but I have add and so dies everyone in my family. This thing has saved me so much water and flooding. It’s great. I frequently forget to turn off the water when I do important things. Like water my garden, fill my pool or flush my pets auto waterers. No more. Highly recommend. Getting the family to use it hasn’t been the easiest but they’ll catch on I’m sure. But it’s June and Iowa so if the other reviews are correct- it could get broken by the heat. So I bought two and have a back up. I suspect the problem isn’t so much the heat but forgetting to shut off the spigot eventually. I try to make that part of my daily things. Check the spigots. Before this thing- flooded gardens. Flooded houses. Flooded the pool over flows. Flooded the chicken coop. Yuck. Even had a sink hole once from forgetting the hose in the yard.

This thing is fantastic. You may or not want this brand- idc. But if you get easily distracted it’s amazing.

This timer has been a gamechanger for me! More often than not, i would forget to set a timer when i moved the sprinkler, causing me to completely saturate parts of my lawn instead of just watering it. This can be detrimental after applying fertilizers or seed as most just need to be slightly watered in and not WASHED AWAY! Since i recieved this orbit timer, i have still forgotten about the sprinkler, however, the yard is never overwatered! It's as easy to set as it is to forget... and that is a beautiful thing. A WORD OF ADVICE.. TAKE INSIDE DURING FREEZING TEMPS! Just because the water is turned off doesn't mean there isn't residual water still in the device. It will definitely break when it freezes. However, for the price, it was a no brainer to buy a replacement one! Happy Watering!

I have landscape irrigation set up using two faucets. After I forgot to turn the water off on one of these for three days, I bought two of these in June 2023. They worked great. Then, in the fall I removed them both and brought them inside for the winter. In spring of 2024, I got them out but found that one was completely inoperative after sitting through the winter. The timer wheel would turn, but it the internal spring did not seem to be connected any more and the timer did not work. I have ordered another to replace the dead one, and I hope that the bad one was a fluke. If one of the other ones fails, I may look for another brand. I would have rated these five stars except for the early failure.

These are very easy to use, just twist the timer to the right setting and turn the water on. There is also a manual override which allows the water to flow through without using the timer function.

The construction seemed to be done well and the parts don't seem wimpy, so I am surprised by the early failure. Maybe I need to ensure there's no water sitting inside the units when I store them for the winter.

I cannot describe how bad this product is. I know it seems to have a good review rating but I bought 2 of these and they were both absolutely terrible.
The thing sprays and leaks all over the place. However tight I connected it - it still sprayed everywhere.
And it is impossible to get the stupid thing to stop ticking.
Do not purchase. Went straight back for a refund.

Einfache mechanische Bewässerungsuhr als gute Alternative zu den überteuerten Gardena-Uhren.
Zur Sicherheit habe ich die Uhr "überdacht" , um ein Eindringen von Wasser auszuschließen.
Meine alte Gardena - Bewässerungsuhr hat auch deshalb ihren Geist aufgegeben.
