I used it for the first time yesterday and the ice cream turned out great! The instructions were confusing, they didn’t make sense. I ended up watching a YouTube video on how to assemble it. The motor isn’t that loud, which was my main concern. It’s way more quiet than a blender as reference. The instructions said to freeze the huge bucket but I was confused and ended up freezing the silver bucket. By the time I figured out how to assemble it, it wasn’t cold anymore. Which wasn’t an issue because the ice makes it cold anyways as it churns! It ran for bout thirty minutes. The ice was kind of melting as time went on so I just kept an eye on it to add more ice and rock salt. Also it said to use crushed ice chunks, which I didn’t have so I just used small square ice cubes.

I bought this ice cream maker instead of a similar one that I have bought in the past. It is easy to use, definitely slows down when the ice cream is about done. I figured that for the price, if I was able to make a few batches, it would be worth it. I was impressed that I was able to make 5 conainers ( 48 oz). And it still worked!. Easy to clean, did not leak water all over the counter. For this maker, rock salt or kosher salt is needed, & lots of ice. No need to pre freeze the bowl. I started with a custard mix that I had made before that had cooled in the fridge. Would buy again.

I’ve been wanting a soft serve ice cream maker for years, but I didn’t want to spend tons of money, and didn’t want to deal with tons of parts that I need to clean and keep track of. I bought this on a Black Friday deal and just tried it tonight. I did it together with my two youngest kids, and we used the easy vanilla ice cream recipe, except I cut down on the cream to 1 qt, because that’s all I had. It was super easy to do, came out AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS, with the perfect soft serve texture. Plus, there was enough even in my modified batch for all six kids. The few parts are so easy to wash. So worth it!
