This has become my favorite tool. It is sharp and tough. I wanted to create a tulip bed in a small area. I needed to remove the grass but I wanted to keep the dirt. The dirt was compacted and contained some clay. This helped me pull up the grass and chip away into the dirt until I could get it tilled enough to put the tulip bulbs in. It worked great on removing the grass. I don't recommend using it in big areas but great for small projects.

I bought this at the same time as the Hori Hori knife and haven't used this too much. I grab that knife for all of my weeding activities. It's easier to plunge into a weed root and use the serrated edge if the plunge fails. In fairness, my primary and biggest nemesis is Mallow, which has a horrible thick tap root. This hoe hasn't impressed me with it's ability to attack that foe.

I have used short handle hoes before and this product surprised. Instead of having a heavy, hefty feel, it was very light.
I then used it on my flower bed and it quickly dispatched weeds with its sharp balde. The point on the hoe was what I liked. With it I quickly got into the roots of the weed and pulled them out with this feature.
I also thought with the weight that it would break, but instead, it was very sturdy and ergonomic. My arm didn't tire as I was hoeing.
Good product, light and it does the job.
