I'm the guy that usually skips past buying the cheap offerings of a product and goes straight to the mid-upper level. I already have JBL sound bars and home audio equipment that's magnificent so the choice was easy to go there for this type of outdoor party speaker. For the refurb/"renewed" price (& I added a 3yr warranty for cheap) it was a no brainer. I was already planning to buy it at full price but couldn't find one anywhere for quite a while, due to the chip shortage I assume.
What We Use It For
My son 11yo plays Select baseball and most teams have a big speaker for warmups/music between innings/walkup songs etc. Some speakers I've seen can get fairly loud but with distortion, lack of bass and clarity. This speaker is muuch different. In the first weekend of use (5 games) four people came up to get a look at the 310 after hearing it from afar and talk about it. I believe I sold two of these already. This thing gets LOUD and people around cannot help but get excited. Even at mid volume everyone in proximity can feel the thump. I never turned it up past 80% and not sure I will ever need to. We ended up going undefeated/winning the tournament and one of the coaches attributed the hype factor of the speaker in keeping the boys energy level up for two days in the extreme heat. After all that the battery level was still at 76%! It's next appearance will be tomorrow at a big pool party we're going to. They recently heard the 310 speaker and asked us to bring it.
Best Features
The "rolling suitcase" mobility. The two handles on the box make its hefty weight manageable for loading in/out of vehicles etc. The water resistance. The general sound presence. The deep lows, great midrange and clear treble. The app that allows you to customize everything further. The quality materials. The high end design. The feel of the cabinet and buttons. The customizable light show is amazing. My wife prefers it off but the kids and I love it.
Worst Features
I haven't come across any yet. It's of course heavy but big sound is going to be. Some people may want a standalone remote but the iOS app fills that need for me and I don't want another remote to deal with.
Conclusion
If you're on the fence, take the plunge. I did fairly extensive research and knew this speaker was very solid but it definitely WOWed me and continues to do so. I knew JBL stuff always had great bass and sound quality but was not prepared for the thunder this thing can emanate. I will continue to buy JBL products.

Right out of the box they had a software update available through the Party Box app which was nice to see JBL was supporting them. I have two JBL Flip 5's which sometimes have connection issues and app connection issues when listening in stereo. These issues are not present with the PartyBox 310's thus far after a week of use.
I bought these "renewed" through Sound Distributors Inc. store, I don’t see any evidence that they were previously used. The manuals both were wrapped from factory on them. Maybe they were used as a demo model.
I've yet to test a full day of battery use on them but from what I've seen so far I have no doubt they'd last a good 5 hours, maybe longer, which is really all you need. The fact that these are as powerful as they are, and still portable, is amazing.
In terms of connection, Bluetooth, USB, and AUX are all options and all of them can be used while also using the app to control lights and other functions like wireless stereo pairing. The RGB lights are a great added function for parties late at night, the additional strobe LEDs are even better.
The tweeter clarity is exactly what you'd expect from JBL. No obvious distortion and gets plenty loud.

I bought two of these to pair in stereo. I thought I was just getting a small upgrade from my ion 270º speaker I use outside. I was severely underestimating the power of two Party Box 310's paired together. I cannot listen to these speakers past 45% volume without disturbing my neighbors. I have to turn the bass down through the EQ on the app so that it isn't heard outside of my house. When you do turn it up, it truly can recreate an at home DJ/rave experience. The bass adjustment can be punchy or deep and as loud as you need. Every window in my house begins to shake when it's turned up to 75%. The Party Box 710 and 1000 must be reserved for extremely large spaces where you need to pump out an immense amount of sound and bass.
