  4. We recently hired several employees, and while they were getting to know our products, the youngest of the bunch asked us what a Cranberry bean was, y porque lo vendemos? Good question, chamaco. You just inspired us to educate la gente about the products we serve. We'll call it ¿Que, Que? and have some fun Cranberry beans (also known as Roman Beans) are smooth, medium-sized beans with distinctive dark-red streaks on the outer shell and a sweet, chestnut-like flavor. They are most similar to Pinto beans and Red Kidney beans, but are much sweeter and more delicate. Believed to have originated en Colombia as the cargamanto, Cranberry Beans were introduced to Europe in the 15th century by Spanish explorers. Since then, they've been used in Spanish, Italian and Portuguese dishes. Nutrient-dense and versatile, they are perfect for pasta dishes, salads, and stews. These can also be used in chilis, baked beans, soups, or just served as a hearty bowl of beans with a few toppings. We added one of our favorite Cranberry bean recipes on the packaging itself so you can make it at home, go buy a pack and let us know como quedaron.
