This is an excellent device for deep tissue massage.
For years I have used lacrosse balls, as per my physical therapist, for severe joint pain treatment after a workout. The ball lasts a very long time on a charge (initial charge does take a while).
There are multiple settings, generally for me the second (middle) setting is good or the third (highest vibration level). It is just the right combination of size, padding, and vibration to really get in deep on the back, spine, and shoulder.
The only issue with it keeping it from 5 stars is when you really press down on it the power button can easily be pressed and turn off. While the buttons recessed, it's not recessed enough to keep from being pressed while "rolling around" on the ball. Using a two button press methodology would cure this ill. (maybe in a subsequent model?)
Otherwise, highly recommended for your PT kit.

I thought I was ordering the larger ball that I had used at the gym. This was the only Hyperice massage ball option I could find on Amazon and looked exactly the same. There were no clear measurements of the diameter in the product description. The ball was much smaller than I expected, which did not work for me.
I finally found and ordered the one I wanted, which appears only to be available on the manufacturer's website directly.
However, when I attempted to return the smaller one through Amazon(unused and the day after I received it), I was informed that it was non-returnable. This was despite it saying clearly on the product description that it was eligible for refund or replacement. When you click on that link, it only then says it is non-returnable. Pretty sneaky and not very cool.
