Directions

<ul style="list-style-type:square"><li>Grill Grill sausage over medium heat 12-14 minutes or until lightly browned, turning frequently. FOR CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS: Cut sausage lengthwise, then into bite size pieces.</li><li>Pan Fry Cut sausage into 1/2-inch slices and place in a large skillet. Cook and stir over medium-high heat 4-5 minutes or until lightly browned. FOR CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS: Cut sausage lengthwise, then into bite size pieces.</li><li>Stovetop Add sausage rope to 1 cup of boiling water. Reduce heat; simmer 8-10 minutes or until hot. Brown, if desired. FOR CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS: Cut sausage lengthwise, then into bite size pieces.</li></ul>

Featured Recipe: Spicy Yellow Rice and Smoked Sausage

Cut 1 package of Hillshire Farm Turkey Smoked Sausage into ½” slices. Heat 1 Tbsp of olive oil in large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Cook sausage 1-2 minutes per side or until lightly browned. Remove from pan and keep warm. Add 1 Tbsp oil to pan with 2 thinly sliced red bell peppers, 2 thinly sliced green bell peppers, 2 sliced onions and 2 cloves minced garlic; cook stirring frequently until vegetables are tender about 7-10 minutes. Stir in cooked sausage, 1 jar (16 ounces) chunky salsa and 2 tsp Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Serve over prepared yellow rice.

Hilshire Farms Turkey Smoked Sausage is low in calories; low in fat and tastes great, whether sautéed; microwaved, grilled or roasted. I have begun using them in place of turkey hot dogs. They are thicker and seem more substantial. I cut a 4 inch section; score it across the top, then either microwave or place in a nonstick pan until heated thru. Its also priced really well.
